@freundderfamilie are also friends of Freude am Tanzen. The two producers from Leipzig have released a lot of music together with other great artists on their own imprint. A FDF record at our Fatplastics Recordstore is always something special for us, abecause the two producers have already been released some tracks on our vinyl only imprint Fatplastics. For this reason, we are especially happy that the 72nd edition of the Freude am Tanzen podcast comes from Freund der Familie.

John Tejada returns on June 20th with his debut full length for Kompakt, "Parabolas" and we're offering up a free download of "Subdivided" from the album! Enjoy. 

Resident Advisor called Tejada “one of the most notoriously meticulous producers around" — an unmistakable proof lies within these recordings. Genres collide and combine with an unraveling of blissful layers on “Parabolas”. The opening track, “Farther & Fainter,” offers a musicality today's techno and house often lack — an accomplishment that resonates throughout the album. Tracks such as “Subdivided” and “Unstable Condition” reflect the wondrousness of Aphex Twin’s Polygon Window project, something that could only be reanimated and brought to 2011's standards by Tejada.

“Parabolas” is a true highlight in John Tejada’s deep catalogue. Bold words indeed for a producer who is known for unexpected variation and tremendous musical imagination.

This is 2020, Coronavirus locked down clubs and festivals. Nevertheless, in a forest near you, some haven’t accepted status quo. To them, dancing isn’t a weekly social routine but much more of a needed cure. They end up dancing under the moonlight. 

If the recording pre-dates the current situation, the lyrics come in just right but all the more poignantly that singer Matt Bessa passed away since then. His vocals shine just about as much as the covers moonlight. @gregorythme pushed the rather analogue original track further into intricate digital delicacies. A forest rave anthem of sorts, Under the moonlight is the second extraction from @ly-sander's to be released album.
