Tribe Ascension kicked ass. It was a perfectly balanced few days, and it felt special to play alongside so many of my fav producers and artists, all such hard workers and each so much fun to hang out with.

I was scheduled to bring in the night, following Leandro's flowing deep house grooves and Pann (Ben Richards') hypnotic bush prog journey. I'm stoked with how the sonic bridge came together, culminating in my favourite set of 2021.

I had the privilege of playing a lot of music at Illogical 5 back in May. Upon arrival on Friday night the Soul Shack decks were free. An awesome evening of tunes ensued, playing back to back with some of my favs, not winding down until the early hours of the morning. I woke from my day nap to discover the party had been shut down! 

A chunk of the festival fam hung around on site for another couple of days. I played this set on Sunday afternoon, in the company of some special friends from lots of different times and places. It was really nice dropping into some uplifting house music; something I don't share often.

It was an absolute honor and a pleasure to play the second last ever DJ set in the Sunset Island Shack prior to it's fiery farewell at Maverick Burn this week just passed. A dear friend had to pull out at the last minute, and while I'm sad to not to get to see him play, I'm delighted to have had the chance to share some of my favourite tunes on such a renown stage with such a wicked sound system. Massive thanks to Steve and the Music Medicine Magic family, Shane S.O.S and the Sunset Island family, and everyone else involved in such a magical few days.

This set was an absolute delight. I decided to let my hair down after my Sunset Island set earlier in the afternoon, and dove in on a carefully considered selection of a few of my favourite altered state inducing treats. I was chilling in flowing chats when a couple of friends popped by, one after the other, to share that Carl, Paul and a posse of drummers were throwing down in the Music Medicine Magic space and that they might be looking for a DJ to join them with some groovy beats. At first I wasn't sure if I was present enough to contribute, but as I wandered over the vibe was great and I felt the flow kicking in.

Huge thanks to everyone for co-creating the awesome high vibes that ensued! Big love too to Ned and the Solaris Crew for coming and smashing it out of the ball park with some amazing back to back high energy sets straight after. Such a pleasure to dance my ass off four nights running.

Where to begin. 

Basscamp was absolutely sensational. Such an extraordinary balance of work, play, passion and love. I've never seen a dancefloor quite as cut up as the one in front of our glorious Frog God! 

The lineup AND the community were absolutely star studded. Everyone worked hard to be there, ESPECIALLY the incredible crew, who were on site weeks in advance busting their asses to bring the magic (you are all absolutely incredible).

The valley drank up the intermittent rain, leaving much of the space inundated with mud. I came to realise there were many things I had been taking for granted after a fortuitous run of fair weather doofing- leaving my inventory wherever I please without fear of it getting waterlogged, flowing in and out of spaces without worrying about mud, not having to plan chillspace/tent positions to accommodate potential flooding... 

But for all of the duress the weather brought, there was a greater counter energy brought by every single member of the community, who together rose to the challenge of not just surviving, but THRIVING out there! So much compassion, ingenuity and playfulness. 

The amount of positive and authentic vibe flowing throughout every inch of the space was absolutely next level. My cup is full.

This is my set from Saturday Dawn. I had originally planned to keep the entire set in the world of deep, hypnotic meditative bass, but when a whole bunch of friends (new and old) came out to play (at 6am no less!) I had to surrender to where the energy took me.

Bass Camp 2022 - Konedawg's Saturday Dawn Meditation Groove

Super stoked to have found this and my Art Valley sets stashed in my Traktor Recordings folder on my cloud backup this week! I thought I'd lost them.

I was so chuffed for Butterz' offer for me to hold space at Love Camp on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, Elements had a 'no renegade' policy outside of fixed hours, and so that set was shut down shortly after kick-off. It all ultimately worked out; It meant I got to catch all of Jackson's set on main stage (which thoroughly rocked) and the Lovecamp takeover of mainy immediately after was one for the ages.

THIS set was earlier in the weekend; a quiet cruisy ~90 mins at camp before mainstage opened, from the comfort of a low camp chair with a JBL boombox, a lappy/faderfox combo, and a lovely gin and soda with extra lemon.

Thank you Brooke and the Conscious Nest Fam for having me! I can't wait to drop in with the SEQ fam again ASAP.

Words can't describe just how grateful I am for the extraordinarily special community of musicians, artists, performers, vendors, culinary experts, engineers and all 'round legends that came together for to co-create an unforgettable New Years at The Kibbutz. Each time I visit the Art Valley Land, I'm blown away by how much fun and flow I see and experience. I'm honored to be a part of this extended festival family. Thank you all for your authenticity, kindness and presence. 

The Kibbutz featured some of the most high vibe moments I've had the pleasure of experiencing at a festival. It also served up another profoundly humbling yet insightful psychedelic journey.

To say I'm chuffed to get to be a part of this great unfolding is an understatement. I'm so glad to be here.

What a blast.

I've recently dove back into the world of full time work. KoneDaddy gotta pay the bills! I was uncertain about how 45 hours out of my week would impact my capacity to continue my creative pursuits. That coupled with living 300km's from Sydney has certainly kept me on my toes, gig-wise.

Some of my recent shows have been a whirlwind. Psyheads was absolutely no exception. I'd barely stopped to take a breath the entire fortnight leading up to the event, right up until the exact moment of stepping behind the decks 5am Saturday morning. In these moments I'm grateful for my meticulous approach to metadata and organising my music, and for beautiful shiny CDJ3000s, which are an absolute delight to play on (and perfectly support my workflow!).

That said, my gratitude for the tech pales in comparison to the profound appreciation I feel for you, my friends, supporters, family and audience. The energy at The Bridge at 5am Saturday morning was electric. Everyone there worked hard to keep partying late, and really brought the magic. I'm honored for the opportunity to throw down 60 minutes of pure phatness (with the occasional groovy chill interlude!) with you all.

I'm stoked with how this set came together. It's a really exciting time for Bass Music. Looking forward to sharing another dancefloor with you all ASAP.

This was my first time to Gill and the Art Valley Fam's exquisite land. I was living in my van at the time and really enjoying the spaciousness that lifestyle provided, which I spent reconnecting with exercise and diving deeper into my DJ practice. 

I wasn't sure what to expect at this party, and was decidedly blown away by the amount of down to earth human beings out in force, as well as the sheer number of shit hot DJs and producers on display on both the main stage and the Lovelution/Shack chill/snack tent. 

I was stoked to find some of my sets from the open decks on my lappy recently. A couple were a little all over the shop, but I managed to resurrect this more high energy evening set from (I think) Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Hope you all dig.

This party really meant a lot to me. Thank you and big love to everyone involved.

I was so psyched to be back out on the Paddock at Matong for Burning Seed. I've been pretty head down ass up with work, and as much as I'd have loved to have relived past Burn experiences by arriving as early as possible for set up and as late as possible for pack down, this time around I blew in and out just for the weekend. I had spent some time prepping some music, but hadn't had the time to foster many connections with theme camps, and wasn't sure just how many last minute opportunities to share some beats would present themselves. Thankfully, within an hour of me hitting the paddock, dosing up and dropping in, Maxi and Geoffrey delivered some awesome news. In the middle of the packed Sacred Hearts DF on Saturday sunset, they casually dropped that they were rocking a bass music takeover at Sickest House at dawn, and that I was invited to join.

Sickest House is just that- the sickest house on the paddock. I wandered in that morning and immediately felt the welcoming warmth and excellent taste of it's crew. I'm so grateful and honored to play for this space. I had such an amazing time and won't be forgetting that morning any time soon.

I'm so glad to have the chance to step back onto the hallowed grounds of Maverick Burn for The Good The Bad The Burners over the Easter Long Weekend. That space is exquisite, and the stunning humans that gather there are next level sensational. As always, Sunset Town throw one hell of a sexy, loving and finessed party.

I'd been a bit worn down, nursing a persistent throat infection, and wasn't sure if I'd make it out to Capertee. I'd originally planned on rain checking TGTBTB as I had a ticket to Origins, but when that fell through at the last minute, I decided to take the plunge and scoop up a Burn ticket.

The weekend was jam packed full of incredible sets from many of my favourite DJs. So stoked as always for the extraordinary inspiration.

This set was a spontaneous jam using my beloved Faderfox and a JBL Partybox at one of the campsites on the East side of the space on Monday arvo, accompanying cheese platters and packdowns. Lots of love to Hurricane, Moogy, Claud, Em, Doobi, Amanda, Tim and everyone else who was floating around the space at that time. Cheers for the boogie.

What can I say. Dune 2069 was an absolutely extraordinary party. I'm so stoked that so many of the gatherings on my calendar are jam packed full of my favourite people, but Dune took that tradition to a whole other level, with every single one of the collaborators being either dear friends and/or inspirational community members.

Perhaps most extraordinary was the fact this was our exquisite host's FIRST TIME running a festival! The space exuded smooth, high vibes the entire week. I left, sad to go, but grateful for the abundant nourishment and inspiration.

Getting to drop in to help build the festival the week leading up to launch was a privilege and a pleasure. I'm honored to have been a part of the build team AND to have helped warm up the amazing, star studded stage.

Thank you Juliette and Yoeri. Love you both and the magic you weave. Cheers for bringing us all together.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to include my B2B session with Francesco that immediately followed this set. I tried to salvage that part of the set but wasn't able to get the gain staging right. Cheers for the spontaneous collaborative takeover Brother! Also big love to Steve and Emi for once again bringing the purring MMM rig. I'm always honored to play on this system.

Art Valley 2023 - Konedawg's Saturday Morning Sesh

Art Valley has, in no time at all, shot straight to the top of my list of favourite festivals. The space, lineup, community, decor and sheer stoke are all exemplary. While there are definite movers and shakers that make a chunk of the magic happen, it really feels like every single person in the space came together to cultivate the flow and love and that made it so special.

I've been high on life ever since Art Valley, and it seems everyone I speak to about this party agrees. It's an honour and a privilege to be a part of this community and to be invited to play.

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to my set on Saturday morning. I'm so excited for the high vibes everyone brought, especially after everyone also stayed up late to catch Maxi close the stage on Friday evening/Saturday morning.

Being invited to share some tunes in an official capacity at Dragon was a real dream come true. Dragon has been an integral part of my doofing/festival community journey for close to 10 years, and I truly adore this festival and its extraordinary clique of phenomenal beings. Hey Fams,

Here's my Saturday Midday set from Zenith Gathering Nov 2023!

I went into this weekend pretty knackered and hadn't taken the time to envision what sort of experience I'd like to have. Zenith wasn't without its challenges, but the extraordinary efforts of many of the core movers and shakers in the community came together to pull off some awesome stuff. Mad props to James for bringing us artists together, Jemima for looking after us, Steph for managing the Vortex stage like a boss, everyone in engineering (lights and sounds were top notch!) and all the wicked DJs, producers, performers and friends I got to hang out with. It was really nice to let my hair down a little on the Saturday after my set and to catch so many wicked musos killin' it as usual.

Flubbed the first mix after I went to use my cues and discovered quantise was off that's what I get for forgetting to do my pre-flight checks of the gear). Have re-recorded it a little tidier.

An honor and a pleasure as always to play tunes on a Sickest House/Soul Shack bill. Thank you everyone for coming out and getting sweaty up at the rooftop bar. Admittedly I hadn't considered that the sound system there might be humble, but you all convinced me to rinse the heavier set I'd prepared anyway, and I'm glad I did.

It was fun experimenting more with mixing some of my fav 140-150 bpm techno with a bunch of my fav dubstep and bassmusic tunes. I'm pleased how this one came together.

Konedawg is a Sydney based Producer/DJ with a penchant for tight and groovy tunes and flowing live sets of a variety of styles.

He curates the KONECAST and KONELIVE Podcast series, running the gamut of electronic music genres, and his DJ sets have been featured on prestigious labels including Digital Diamonds (Germany) and Subtrail (India). 

Actively involved with Australia's burgeoning underground music festival scene, Konedawg is a Soulshack Resident DJ, Burner and Doof regular.
