The rāga saga is a series that acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all over, each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "colour the mind" and affect the emotio ns of the audience and this journey (raga) and this rāga comes from the deep and wonderous @djturak

Turak understands melancholy sound journeys. In this podcast, however, he covers the whole spectrum of the emotional world. Sometimes sad, after a short time it becomes carefree happy again. The powerful beats of the bass drum symbolize the anger, which suddenly falls silent every now and then. A roller coaster of emotions which ends with an honest smile on the ground of the facts.

He loves to travel and go to new countries. He grew up in Munich and lives in Berlin since 6 years. He always try to stay positive and to live my life as good as possible

Our milestone podcast is a very special one curated by the Deep House Toronto founder, Mustafa Ismaeel ( @mustafaismaeelmusic )

In 2015 Mustafa and his partner Zain embarked on a journey to start the DHT community and podcast. Their vision and goal was to provide a platform that supports artists, build a community of music enthusiasts and share the music they love. They curated events in Toronto and got involved in many great local and international parties and festivals.

The journey was not an easy one and definitely had its ups and downs but they knew that persistence, consistency, and patience always pays off. Year by year the platform grew and established itself as a pillar of the Deep House music scene, not only in the Toronto scene but also internationally. The vision for Deep House Toronto was executed by continually expanding a team of very dedicated and talented individuals that work truly out of the love and passion they have for electronic music.

Growing this platform, Mustafa did not even release one podcast of his own on through it but rather set a goal that he will be doing the podcast #100. Fast forward 6 years and here we are! The team is stronger than ever and the platform is very excited for what's the come next.

Die Tage werden langsam länger und wir drehen munter weiter – dieses Mal mit an unseren Karussellstangen: Jan Ludentwiete aus der Hafenstadt Hamburg!
Ein recht seltenes Vögelchen an den meisten Plattentellern, kann Jan eher auf selbst organisierten Veranstaltungen oder kleineren Festivals im hohen Norden und dem tiefsten Osten der Republik angetroffen werden.
Bereits sein ganzes Leben lang sammelt er Musik aus den verschiedensten Genres von Soul, Jazz, Funk, Caribbean bis hin zu Afro beats – eine Vorliebe, die er wohl dem legendären Mojo Club aus seinen Hamburger Gefilden zu verdanken hat.
Heute befinden sich eher organische Downtempo und House Tracks, bouncige Disco Tunes und runtergepichte Basslines in seinem Köfferchen. Eine ausgefeilte Diversität in seiner Musikauswahl sticht dabei jedoch stets heraus, wie auch in seinem Mix für uns.
Die ausgewählten Stücke werden hier mit einem satten Groove zusammengehalten wie durch dicken Kleister. Ein durchschlagender, fast schon protziger Sound, den wir sicherlich noch an vielen weiteren Stationen auf die Ohren bekommen werden!

"As you all might be trapped during a global pandemic, I take the opportunity to tell you the story of this mix.

Since I taped DJ mixes in the good old days of youth radio my interest in electronic music was ever filled with passion for new music that touches my self as a whole. Although I do often wander into the deep fields of house I always try to explore new regions - as there is beauty in everything.

My love for downtempo was started by the aging of my outer shell and the legendary performance from Martha at Kalkutta (https://soundcloud.com/marthavanstraaten/martha-aufm-kutter-fusion-festival-2015). A magical journey into thoughtful moving body parts, thru time slowing waves of sound - Love at first sight ❤️. On the dance floor, you would have seen the question mark over my head and a big smile on my face. Again mother fusion had told me a lesson - "Move slow and take care of each motion my son." 

The most memorable lesson was again taught by her. This time we were traveling through the waves of people that were flooding the streets. As walking became impossible we had enough, jumped on the metallic horses and rode to the secret nudist beach, seeking for more conscious environment.

Manoeuvring the space ship into a different reality, hundred light years away from what ever that was. I can't remember any more because master Niju was playing a 5h sunset live performance for us and the other 20 people (https://soundcloud.com/niju-1/fernab-der-fusion-2018-live). Truly a one of a kind moment - "Follow your heart and you will always find what you searched for" 

I was strongly wrapped in the arms of slow music and my interest has grown ever since. But to really understand something, you still need time.

As long as I can remember I collect music, starting even before mp3 was a thing. But it would take until college before I got hold of some good old 1210s (I had some crap before). After this, it again took a huge amount of time to switch to the digital world in 2020. This new freedom of playing what you want in the tempo of your choice has revitalised my love for making music and creating DJ mixes.

From 135 bpm techno to 105 bpm deep house to 90 bpm Downbeat. From ethno to industrial. While exploring new ways to discover music I stumbled across even slower and more gentle creations. With labels like Fértil Discos, an idea was evolving in my mind - "How slow could you go while still ordering those hips to move?" - so I created the term Downbient as a placeholder for this idea. A combination of two of my favorite activities, relaxing and slow hip shuffling with their musical counterparts Downbeat and Ambient. (Yeah ok, I didn't invent it but I swear I've never heard it before).

With this in mind, I started gathering all kinds of sounds and experiences to let them lead my way. In my dream, the story should be able to lead you in every possible state of mind. Flow through the people that take a break after a long night of dancing as well to use it's magical spell on the energetic dancers in the front row. In a way, sending a connecting message to everybody. 

But better ask your sub-woofer for a date and check for yourself if the dream can face the miserable real world.  

Requirements for this trip: Only experienced astronauts should risk traveling this musical space craft through the universe of the mind. ;)

kosha (Sanskrit कोश, IAST: kośa), usually rendered "sheath", the covering of the Atman, or Self. 

kośa is a soundsmith who brings you a flavour mixing - downtempo, acid house, minimal//deep-tech ranging from 80 to 120 bpm, electronic yet organic tunes, deep hypnotic meditative grooves and solid kicks infused with Indian, Arabic and other Ethnic influences which we beautifully term 'spiritual deeptech' a genre coined by kośa, rooted in the deepest part of India's underground scene.

ॐ//om -The great primordial sound, the original sound from which the universe was created, the sound of all sounds together. According to Hindu metaphysics everything is made of sounds (vibrations), since everything is sound, healing through it, is an ancient ritual, as sound is not only heard through our ears but vibrates within every cell of our bodies.

For us at kosa records this network gives space to connect ideas of various forms to do art for art's sake - not for social recognition. to break the rules of systematic exploitation of the artist's energy and to feel the soul in synchonicity.

We consumed too much music and it started to leak and this is when kośa evolved into a record label in January 2019 with the release of their first various artists compilation Mīmāṃsā, though the real beginnings were with our Podcast series the raga saga https://soundcloud.com/kosamusica/sets/the-raga-saga where in we showcase an hour of beautiful music from our favorite artists from around the world.

50% of all proceeds are donated to Pawbro India Foundation that aims at feeding stray dogs and other animals in Pune, India, feeding over 150 strays everyday. Part of the artists’ stream shares are directed towards these efforts.
