I can't remember the last time I've felt this intensity with music. I'm on to my forth listen, I have tears in my eyes..... Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I'm trying to make slower, more meditative music. Getting there... but can't resist a good arp.
Instruments: Pads Jupiter X & later Sequential Take 5. Arpeggio Take 5 & later DX7 plus a grotty bell in Ableton. Prologue on the lead and FX from Roland VR-09. Drums are DX7 and Ableton.

Gather Stones: a slow-burning indie rock lament that simmers with emotional gravity and quiet desperation. With a brooding groove and flashes of melodic chaos, the track captures the tension of relationships weighed down by time, silence, and everything unspoken. Gritty guitars and off-kilter rhythms pulse beneath vocals that waver between raw vulnerability and angst. 

The chorus - a storm surge. Stop-and-go urgency meets lyrical spirals, mirroring the internal back-and-forth of someone trying to hold on while dragging the weight of the past behind them.

Lyrically poetic and emotionally grounded, “Gather Stones” is for anyone who’s ever tried to make the swim back home with their pockets full, and energy sapped.

This track was created purely by accident, inspired by a vibe I was feeling. While working with my drum machine, I was editing and slicing up my own samples when I inadvertently chopped up and rearranged a powerful bass line. I was also manipulating and recording some synth sounds, looping them, and managed to create a nice mix. I recorded a one-minute video jamming to it and became instantly hooked. Not wanting to lose the vibe, I quickly opened Logic and started recording directly to the master track. 

I listened to the recording the next morning and still liked it, so now I’m excited to share it with you. I'm new to sampling and don’t usually create drum and bass or break beats, but I tried to stay true to the genre while keeping the song ever-evolving for the listener. While bouncing this jam, I had a vivid memory unlocked in my mind from my younger days. A friend and I were driving home on a cold night after a jazz basketball game. A thick fog blanketed the valley, creating an eerie yet beautiful atmosphere. We could barely see on the freeway as the fog enveloped the lampposts, making everything look hyper-futuristic. In the other lane, we could see sirens flashing by. We were in awe of the scene and talked about it while making it home safely. This song captures that vibe perfectly.

Lullaby is a meditative instrumental track created in collaboration with Denys Balykhin (handpan).
Soft handpan rhythms are layered with bass clarinet, kalimba, and soprano saxophone, creating an atmosphere of warmth and inner calm.
Recorded in Lisbon, 2025.

Kraftkabel is the artist name of Philip I. Buckland. I am a musical scientist in a parallel universe living in a studio flat orbiting Jupiter. My keyboards are suspended in gravity nets, and my mixer is controlled by the power of the mind. My cosmic sequencing software masters through the power of emotion, and my keyboards are simultaneously both retro and new.
My music originates from the point of divergence of these universes - the mid-late 1980's, but is spliced by genre splicing interludes. I use a time machine and dimensional portal to get to work.

Plus some guitars that I can't really play very well. And an mbira, tin whistle and an alien head-shaped ukulele.
