Arketip Discs is a Barcelona-based vinyl and digital imprint co-founded by Spear and Makuto that has featured music by Reeko, Truncate, Temudo, ORBE and Eduardo De La Calle.
Makuto is the label head from Spain with a growing reputation and who has kept his productions exclusively to Arketip Discs so far. “Sfera” is a hypnotic and atmospheric cut with modular accents and tones that morph and expand in sleek style.
A. Morgan is from Manchester, UK and has been establishing his productions with revered releases on the likes of Jay Clarke’s Blackaxon, Joton’s Newrhythmic, Hans Bouffmyhre’s Sleaze and Berlin’s BCCO. “Vogue One” has a stripped-back style and groove focused rhythm with creative sound design and precise percussion highlights.
VIL is known as a core member of the Portuguese outfit HAYES, and has released music on Ben Klock’s Klockworks, Ben Sims’ Hardgroove, Shlomi Aber’s Be As One, and TWR72’s Float amongst others. “The Reaction” has a shuffling and quirky rhythm with deep, floating chords and electric elements creating a unique vibe.
Also from Spain, Psyk is the Non Series label owner whose back catalogue includes Tresor, Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver, Scuba’s Hotflush, Reeko’s Mental Disorder and Chris Liebing’s CLR to name only a few. Psyk’s impressive remix of “The Reaction” succeeds in expanding distinct electric fragments from the original into a tapestry of organic, modular soundscapes.

"The Gardens of Babylon is set to release the second VA compilation ‘The Monastery’ in celebration of its eponymous yearly festival experience on 17 July 2020. For this edition, the Amsterdam-based, yet globe-trotting spiritual clubbing experience welcomes contributions from Amine K, Gorje Hewek, Maga, Madmotormiquel, Noraj Cue & unders, Parallells, VANDER, and more across its 17 tracks.
After the 2019 launch of The Gardens of Babylon’s record label we find ourselves in a very different world. Last year’s compilation was a musical snapshot of a physical festival experience with contributions coming from those who were there. This year, the compilation assumes a different role – a sonic journey through the times, memories, and loved ones we miss, as well as a sense of comfort as we look to reunite on a dancefloor somewhere around the world.
‘The Monastery’ 2020 draws contributions from friends and family, developing its narrative from the opening percussion of Menachem 26’s ‘Kumkapi Blues’ through the closing euphoria of Glauco di Mambro’s ‘Solar Safari’. Along the way, each track reads as a different chapter, transporting listeners to the sea of smiles that make up The Monastery Festival Experience. These chapters break down the weekend, encapsulating the emotions of its many facets, locations, and feelings. With ‘Light On The Road,’ Ali Farahani sets palpable anticipation, leading into the jazzy breaks of Gorje Hewek’s ‘Der Geist Seiner Zeit’. Then, Maga’s delicately brooding ‘Muzike’ (feat. Arc) makes way for the gently rising piano of Parallell’s ‘Everybody Knows’. By the time, Derun’s ‘Los Caminos de Sirkedji’ hits, things start getting twisty, day turns to night, and ‘The Monastery’ is in full swing. From here, Amine K, Niko Schwind, Noraj Cue & unders, Dauw, Madmotormiquel, and Headwaters expand consciousness through mythical, hypnotic offerings – some low slung, some deep, dark, and driving. This is where resident VANDER’s ‘Can’t Get No Sleep’ drops and sums up the experience perfectly, interjecting fresh funk into groovy percussion, before giving way to afterhours vibes courtesy of KRAUT, Franca, and Sound Shapes.

It may be another year until the hallowed grounds of Goch’s Kloster Graefenthal turn into our musical paradise again, but with ‘The Monastery’ 2020 compilation, its starry nights and lovely days transport through speakers and souls as we patiently wait for the world we know to return stronger, healthier, and more conscious than ever before. "

Soy Kramark Selecta aka KmK Selecta. Nacido en el '83 e interesado por la música desde muy pequeño. Sobre el 2000-2001 junto a 3 amigos; Beren (RIP), Albert Gómez y π-nyot creamos La Koma Family aka Komando LKF donde se nos daba bien poner letras de Rap & Reggae sobre instrumentales nacionales e internacionales. En 2004 empiezo un proyecto personal basado en el reggae donde empiezo a crear mis primeros beats reggae interesantes junto a Dj Jaba (EGOproducciones). En 2006 me embarco en un dúo a guitarra y voz junto mi amigo Israel. Ahí, la variedad musical e influencias de varios estilos como: Reggae, Rumba, Son Cubano, Rock, Blues y otros afloran y damos nombre a este binomio El Señor Pez. Durante más de 5 años y varios conciertos, concursos y fiestas de amigos aumentamos el número de integrantes de la banda hasta 8. Esta aventura solo duró un par de años más. A partir de ahí he intentado desarrollar más y mejor mi faceta de productor, centrándome en el reggae, el rap y algo de electrónica. Hace poco decidí empezar a mostrar mi trabajo y aquí estoy. I am Kramark Selecta aka KmK Selecta. Born in '83 and interested in music from a very young age. About 2000-2001 together with 3 friends; Beren (RIP), Albert Gómez y π-nyot we created La Koma Family aka Komando LKF where we were good at putting Rap & Reggae lyrics on national and international instrumentals. In 2004 I started a personal project based on reggae where I started to create my first interesting reggae beats together with Dj Jaba (EGOproducciones). In 2006 I embarked on a guitar and vocal duo with my friend Israel. There, the musical variety and influences of various styles such as: Reggae, Rumba, Son Cubano, Rock, Blues and others emerge and we name this binomial El Señor Pez. For more than 5 years and several concerts, competitions and parties with friends we increased the number of members of the band to 8. This adventure only lasted a couple of years more. From there I have tried to develop more and better my facet as a producer, focusing on reggae, rap and some electronic music. I recently decided to start showing my work and here I am.
