For the 86th episode of our podcast serie we're happy to invite Polish DJ, and dear friend Aksamit. She will perform at our birthday showcase in About Blank :// on the 16th of August so make sure to come see her if you're in town.

This recording is an extract from a set performed live at Cialo club in Warsaw. Tinted at times by minimal sounds, and at times by complex soundscapes, it is skillfully woven into an hypnotic, harmonious atmosphere.

Aksamit - from the Greek Heksámitos, meaning "composed of six threads",
has a rich and peculiar structure. Associated as purely soft and pleasant, more and more often seen in terms of a wrap the secret of unpredictability. Musically shaped towards deep and hypnotic sounds that change with the mood
and sense of the moment.

Resident of Wrocław's Ciało, Berlin’s Art Bei Ton, founder of the Affekt agency and the Velvet Vortex series. A teacher at the Instytut Dźwięku, Warsaw school of modern music. 

Her love for vinyl led her to the Berlin Tresor, in which she played during
the legendary Klubnacht and 'All You Need Is Ears' under the supervision of Dasha Rush.

On a daily basis, apart from music, she also runs the Kolorowy Wiatr brand,
in which she creates intentional jewelry made of natural stones.

CXMA is a DJ and producer from Murcia, Spain. He fell into techno with Richie Hawtin's sets and went raving a lot in Berlin. There he discovered Berghain and became more interested in underground techno. Since then, he's been partying at the best festivals in Europe and the most underground clubs in Berlin. In 2020, he made the decision to live in the capital of techno. His first gig was at the Bulbul Berlin’s club where an afterparty was hosted by Room Trax. His music has been greatly influenced by the artists he's been very close to and can be described as dark hypnotic techno. He is one of the founders of the collective Proyektx in Murcia. He played several times in Berlin and Milan. In 2022, he did the warm-up for the party BlackWorks where he shared the lineup with DYEN, Svetec and Pawlowski. At other events, he already shared the lineup with Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, VSK, Flavia Laus, Pfirter, Blanka, P.E.A.R.L., Ben Sims, Alienata, Fadi Mohem and Joton. His first track was released on the label Casanova Bar Records. His second album is now in process with 6 tracks booked for Diffuse Reality.

Deficient is a DJ and producer from Brussels, Belgium. He delivers techno with hypnotic and groovy notes. His music serves as a means of raising awareness of the various existing disabilities. He already played at the notorious Fuse Club, sharing the line up with Annē, Askkin and Initial Code. He appeared at the Zodiak Club as well with Parallel Circuit, Hitam, Mathys Lenne, Assumption, Setaoc Mass, Cleric, Koboyo and Herton. And he also played at Cafe Central in the capital.

“My love and passion for music inspires me to continually find ways to grow as an artist. Building upon minimalistic techno of the 90’s as the foundation for my music, I love to experiment with different types of abstract techno, discovering new layers to the art.” - Tim van Paradijs 

Tim van Paradijs is a DJ, producer and label owner best known by his alias Invite. With an unwavering focus on music for more than two decades, Tim has established himself a firm position in the techno community, allowing him to share his talents in clubs all over Europe, as well as Russia and Asia. 

At his Utrecht-based studio, Tim combines the old with the new, using old-fashioned analogue machines to complement the latest recording and post-processing techniques. Tim’s DJ sets are a unique combination of old records coupled with the best of what modern day techno has to offer. 

In 2015, Tim launched his label, Invite’s Choice Records; a concept through which he aims to spread his love for electronic music as a whole and more specifically, techno music. Besides the label, the Invite’s Choice project currently also includes a well-received podcast series and his popular Label Nights, a showcase of talented artists. 

As label head, Tim signs EP’s by musicians who have been in the game for decades, while also maintaining his commitment to finding and supporting new artists. With his Label Nights showcases, Tim brings together a diverse roster of artists with a variety of experiences and approaches to their music. Tim combines it all in his own characteristic way.

Takaaki Itoh es reconocido como uno de los padres de la nueva generación de la música techno en el país del sol naciente. Desde 1994 es el responsable de los mayores eventos celebrados en el norte de Japón con el techno de raiz detroitiana como principales influencias. Las referencias de Itoh son muchas y muy variadas pero destacan por encima del resto, UR Derrick May Axis Hardfloor Harthouse, Warp y Rising High Takaaki Itoh comienza su carrera de productor en 1996, publicando para el sello británico Electracom donde coincide con Damon Vallero Inigo Kennedy y Hiroaki Iizuka obteniendo rápidamente una gran repercusión a nivel mundial. En los últimos años recorre Europa mostrando su sonido característico y único antes nunca visto en nuestro continente, con actuaciones en Alemania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croacia, Eslovaquia, España –acostumbra a visitar el norte del país donde le piden caña-, Holanda, Hungría, Portugal, República Checa, Yugoslavia. Desde 2002 dirige su propio sello Wols donde ha contado con la colaboración de los españoles Óscar Mulero y Christian Wünsch para las remezclas del tema Cry Of State Desperation incluido en la segunda referencia de su sello. Por el contrario, Takaaki Itoh edita sus trabajos en Continual, Housedust, Mainout, Majesty, PVC, Sheep, Stimulus, Tsunami, Warm Up, etc…

Lindsey Wang, also known as Polygonia, is a versatile art and music project based in Munich, Germany. Her preceding intensive and long practice playing several instruments as well as the experiences with other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital musical language. She creates mystic, deep and experimental soundscapes with acoustic elements in it.
Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the Ambient and DeepTechno Label IO.
