From the ashes of past incarnations, a new era sparks to life - wired, alive, and pulsing with transmissions. Kris Baha returns with Livewire, a 3-track EP that marks the beginning of his next evolution: a collision of late 90s tribal-psy trance, techno, breaks, big beat and progressive grooves, romancing the chaos and dust of a Spiral Tribe doof.

The title track Livewire is the sound of shedding skin. Starting off like some lost crystal method cut, Kris sings ‘Flowers of Steel & Crystal’ - the first metaphor of this alternate reality which quickly mutates to a shape-shifting journey that moves like a multi-dimensional rave dream. Echoes of the inner self reminding you to keep listening to the voice within, re-amplified by the main dusty lead before the final liquid psy bassline slips in and warps us through to the other side. Somewhere in the static, a voice remains: “There’s a livewire through you.”

Kiss of Life pays homage to the proto-progressive trance and house of the 90s—looped, distorted vocal hooks and pulsing acid lines weave in and out like memories from another dancefloor.

Then comes The Phase - which kicks up the dirt of the doof and goes down the spiral further. Infectiously groove based with a classic lead surprise half way through, something we have heard before but not quite like this.

‘Livewire” channels the wired chaos of the 90’s era artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Fluke, Prodigy, Underworld, Lunatic Calm, Crystal Method, and the Hackers OST reimagined for now.

This isn’t a throwback - it’s a return, to feeling everything at once and we’re excited to roll out the sonic rebirth of Kris Baha.

Kris’s latest output starts this May 2023 in collaboration with his new band moniker, GHOSTS IN THE MACHIИE - A future cyber wave sci-fi inspired concept that is set in two timelines, a future looking back to the now and how we could have corrected our society before the AI take over and strip away our souls, becoming Ghosts In The Machine.

The single ‘Nothing is Real’ is a cyber body music odyssey about social media’s influences on society, priming us before the AI machines take over.

KRIS BAHA & GHOSTS IN THE MACHIИE unzip the next cyberpop single,  SENTIENTS - a sonic echo of breakbeat and shimmery alt-pop from the late 90’s/early 00’s with stark technological apprehension and existential warnings that conveys a chilling narrative of a y2k 2.0 - Sentient entities that have taken residence within our smartphones and are programmed to end us all. The repeated plea to answer the phone reveals a desire for connection despite the fear. 
 
The lyrics emphasise the growing danger of these androids and the need to resist their influence to prevent further harm and protect humanity. Our society grappling with the encroaching dominance of these android entities, as KB’s soul glitches and trust erodes. In the main break of the song, an android voice asks, "Why won't you pick up?", underscoring the longing for connection in a world increasingly governed by these enigmatic digital forces and the complex relationship between humanity vs technology vs our dependency, paranoia, and resistance.

Unzipping their final single before the album launch on October 18th, KRIS BAHA & GHOSTS IN THE MACHIИE decrypt “Mvtational” (pronounced Mutational) - A song about a future generation resistant to assimilating into AI-controlled systems. This generation is depicted as mutants to the AI systems, standing apart from the digital world and spreading like a contagious force. The term "MVTATIONAL" represents their transformation and defiance. They've become updates that the AI can't decipher, can’t read, programming their own future while staying true to themselves. The song emphasises their struggle against being controlled by simulations and AI, remaining unknown and fighting for their identity in a changing world. The lyrics act as a metaphor for current day marginalised communities, like LGBTQ individuals, non conforming to societal norms/ constructs and embracing their unique identities. A personal song for Kris & Ghosts being apart of the LGBTQ community as-well as being half Armenian, a culture that is still undergoing ethnic cleansing to this day.

10 years ago Power Station started in Melbourne, Australia as a weekly Saturday club night that turned into a label releasing music from the residents and friends of the party. Since the pandemic, we have been quietly re-constructing the plant due to the heavy impact of the effects of covid but are ecstatic to announce we are ready to fire up all the cylinders in the station again, this time with clean renewable fusion energy and new music.

To re-boot, we invite Kris Baha back to the station with a dance floor summer ready EP, “Breathe” which almost feels like the next progression after his last solo EP on the label all those years back in 2016 with ‘Mind Your Head’. ‘Breathe’ is a hazy reimagining of the mid 90’s/ early 2000’s y2k dance era while all still retaining Kris’s signature muscle baselines, textural ear candy, laced in euphoric synth lines. Channeling the era, in the lens of now’ using techno kicks, prog trance / 90’s synth lines and EBM influenced bass and sequences, for any fans of 90’s PVC trench coats and speed shades.

‘Mescalin Dreams’ Anyone that has followed the white rabbit knows of mirrored realities so Kris takes a Techno approach to prog trance while still retaining his classic EBM influenced bass line. “Mescalin, the only way to fly”

‘Breathe’, the name sake EP is about taking a moment to actually breathe, deep, into yourself especially in this climate. Hi pitched vocal samples run through out the track that symbolise the madness of the inner dialogue being juxtaposed on to the mantra, 'Breathe, Breathe, Breathe with me" - all fuelled by the hyper bombardment of social media, grabbing, holding your attention....you just need a moment to breathe to find your self.

Horror ReDubs takes the sinister soundscape of Vexillary’s third LP, Horror in Dub, and mutates it into something even darker, heavier, and more brutal. Each track from the original album is stripped to its raw core and transplanted into a new body, creating a collection that feels like a true horror sequel.

Ten hand-selected producers, chosen by Vexillary, were tasked with reimagining different tracks from Horror in Dub through their unique lenses. From the industrial IDM rework of "Insurrection" by Blush Response, to the breathtaking deep-dub update of "My Vertigo" by bass music veteran Leon Switch, to the glitch heavy reface of "Paris Spleen" by the always innovative VHS Head, and beyond, each of the 10 collaborators has breathed new life into the album, turning it into an even more diverse and futuristic output.

With Horror ReDubs, Vexillary offers more than just a remix album—it’s a complete reinvention of fear itself, lurking within the circuits of a digital wasteland. The result bridges the gap between past and future, where ghostly beats meet the relentless drive of a dystopian soundtrack, forming the digital nightmares of tomorrow. Ultimately, Horror ReDubs maintains the deep meaning and spirit of the original, but morphs into a whole new entity through the witchcraft of remix.

Berlin-based record label Wie Ein Gott prepare to unleash ‘Sledgehammer‘ from Berlin-based producer XTR Human...Our pick is Baha‘s version of ‘Sledgehammer‘ thanks to its warehouse-primed techno sermon infused in euro-trance sweat. Kicking off with smoked vocals and horror-score synths, the track plunges into a blackout of breaks. As the track evolves, thumping kick-drums intertwine with bleached arpeggios and decayed monologues, wrapping the audience in a climax of ecstasy.

Kris Baha is an Australian-born, Berlin-based queer artist of Armenian, Egyptian and Italian heritage. His sound moves between techno, trance, progressive and breaks, shaped by a love of industrial textures and late-night city energy.

Over a 16-year career he’s remixed artists from Boy Harsher to Boys Noize and earned a reputation for crossing between club sets, live performance and experimental production, building a devoted following from Australia to Berlin and beyond.

This mix reflects his current mood, drawing on late-’90s and early-2000s influences with a cinematic Hackers-style edge—different from his past work yet true to what inspires him now.
