An artist who has quickly come to the fore over the past 3 years, Wolfframm now joins the Proton Music roster with his debut "Us / Trommelbaer" EP.

A German/Australian producer with a growing set of production credentials to his name, Paul Richter has excelled under his Wolfframm pseudonym. A debut on Late Night Music in early-2020 has quickly led to more than 30 credits for the Melbourne-based imprint, before March 2024 saw the release of the "Lucid" EP on Particles including remixes from Jamie Stevens and Amháin. Now debuting on Proton's flagship imprint, a whispered vocal heralds the opening of "Us" before a louder enunciation punctuates the 8-minute offering. Full of the dramatic cinematic layering that has become a trademark of his work, Wolfframm's impressive production techniques are fully to the fore as an array of evolving melodic layers cascade off each other, blossoming at the mid-point, before exploding into the third movement. Anchored by a wonderful dancefloor groove that exudes dancefloor knowhow, "Us" is a pure joy to behold. "Trommelbaer" is a glorious groove-laden affair that bristles with a shuffling shaker-led percussion and deep kick. An immaculately syncopated bassline adds depth while a gloriously muted lead line gradually plucks its way into listener consciousness. A richly textured backdrop of pads and delicate vocal touches add to the soundscape as trademark cinematic strings and reverb-drenched lead-line emerge at the breakdown before evolving further in a dramatic and commanding second half.

No stranger to the musical limelight, Dowden has been a key figure in the Progressive House genre, not least through a triple century of credits for the likes of Alex O'Rion's Solis Records, GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile, and Mango's Mango Alley. First appearing on Particles courtesy of a remix of Ric Neils' "Reasons", Dowden now joins the Proton Music roster with a beautifully crafted reworking of Wolfframm. Making intelligent use of the central melodic theme that runs through "Trommelbaer", Dowden's skill is to wrap his interpretation around a crisp rhythmic shell that provides the perfect vehicle for a gradually evolving soundscape to flourish over its 8-minute timeframe. Pausing with a delicate, pulsating breakdown, the second half picks up the pace with dancefloor ease to create a memorable and unique interpretation of Wolfframm's original.

Andrea Cassino is no stranger to the Proton Music limelight. The Italian-born, artist has lit up the label with a score of production material that includes 2017's "Divine", 2020's "Losing Part of Me" and 2021 "Asante" in collaboration with Lio Q. Furthermore, remixes for Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat, GMJ, Michael A and Savvas have shown another side to the Argentinean-based producer's work. Now returning for the first time in over 2 years, the Andrea Cassino remix takes "Us" on a magical journey that is fuelled by a driving rhythmic backdrop and bassline gravitas with its roots firmly in the original. Thickly textured pads add to the dense aural collage and new ethereal phrases emerges alongside familiar phrasing as the striking rhythmic backdrop propels the remix forwards with incredible dancefloor prowess that blossoms in the second half with grace and poise.

Subandrio makes a welcome return to the label with an astounding trio of treats. 

The Sri Lankan artist has been at the top of his game for over a decade, and shows no signs of slowing down. Beginning his international journey in 2014 with an EP for Lowbit Records, Subandrio's silky style has lit up dancefloors globally. Now signed to a bewildering array of labels including Vapour, Mango Alley and Juicebox Music, Subandrio has gained years of experience, winning accolades along the way with an unrivalled musical diversity as producer, remixer and performer.

Opening with 'Heritage 82', Warm bass tones and driving percussive underbelly instantly hooks in. Muscular rhythms and ear candy sonics keep you firmly on the dance floor as this epic journey reveals its secrets with patience and class. 

Next up, 'Morph into the Sun' continues apace. Driving rhythms, snappy hats and machine funk melodies all combine effortlessly. Pushing forward to the first break, the track swerves into new territory. Dark sweeps and pulsating melodies draw out the tension before the main break prepares us for the drop. Absolutely flawless. 

Finally, Subandrio rounds the EP out with the suitably named 'Karnage'. Stripped back drums make way for the bubbling acid bass and scratchy FX, and percussive intensity. Very much a late night treat that teases the tension, this is the perfect pre-peak bruiser to get the floor ready for an audio onslaught.

With the summer season in full swing, Ruben Karapetyan's RKP continues to add new talent to their roster, welcoming Hernan del Azar to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Argentina, Hernan del Azar is one of the emerging talents from his country’s burgeoning progressive house scene. With a sound that finds the creative space between nostalgic and modern styles, the Buenos Aires resident has already found a home on Antrim’s Or Two Strangers affiliate Strangers Beats and the long-standing Córdoba imprint Buddhabrot. Now, presenting his first project of 2025, Hernan continues on an upwards trajectory, making his RKP debut with ‘Marginal’, alongside remixes from Greenage and Redspace.

A returning artist to the Meanwhile catalogue, EMPHI builds on his growing support and popularity with a brand-new twin-track EP in the form of "Walk With Me / Research Myself".

Hailing from the Swedish capital, EMPHI has lit up the world of Progressive House in the first half of the 2020s with his "tracks filled with vibrant percussion and anthemic melodies." Able to point to a growing number of blue-chip labels that have featured his work, Kasey Taylor's Vapour Recordings, Alex O'Rion's Solis Records, as well as the number 1 selling Mango Alley and iconic Balance Music, have all played host to EMPHI's production talent since a 2020 debut on Odd One Out.

Meanwhile has also been a key component in seeing the Stockholm resident soar to new heights. A pair of tracks have featured on the "Meanwhile Excursions" series with "The Box" on July 2022's Vol. 2 and "Azur" on Vol. 3 a year later. Now returning for a third appearance and a full solo EP, "Walk With Me" is propelled forward by a deep and penetrating kick. At the same time, a fizzing percussive top-line of hats and shakers provides the backdrop for a hypnotic bassline groove to anchor a series of sweeping, stereo-panned effects and vocal loop to flow seamlessly across the 7-minute piece. A catchy lead motif then provides melodic interest as it filters its way through proceedings from the mid-point onwards and into a stripped-down break. Building once more, the final movement explodes into a cadenced square wave synth that cuts through the mix with sumptuous pads adding to the soundscape.

Partner track, "Research Myself" immediately comes alive with a delicious head-shaking rhythmic pattern that creates a call and answer sequence with subtle synth placement. A chorus of hi-hats and shaker patterns adds further to the dancefloor arrangement as exquisitely placed slow attack chords and delicious effects create a hypnotising sonic collage. Rising and falling with immaculate ease, the track contains all the hallmarks of the EMPHI production skillset in a seething dancefloor gem.

Journeying to new frontiers on a voyage of self-discovery, EMPHI reaches new heights with "Walk With Me / Research Myself".
