This song was an online collaboration between me and my friend Dan Wentworth.  It is a rewritten version of an old BOB song, which was a band that we both played in back in high school.  The original version of this song was written in the early 90's.  We collaborated on this new version completely through emails.  I was living in Minnesota at the time and he was in Georgia.  I wrote and arranged all of the music while Dan wrote and arranged the lyrics.  The project slowed down after a while so with Dan's approval, I decided to complete the song on my own.   I performed the vocal tracks on this recording and added some harmonies and background vocals along the way.

The Greatest Of Them All

So when I was a little bit younger, I had it all figured out.
And I felt like I knew everything that there was to know about what it meant to be a man.
I was wrong.
I never knew how to be the man.

But those years have passed.
And as I look back down upon that road once again my friend, I can see for myself that I am not that proud of who I was, or of what I had become.

Here I am a little bit older now.
My life is rearranged.
And I feel like I have come of age, but some things will never change.
Those things are beyond my control.
I do not know how to be the man in control.

But those years have now passed.
And as I look back down upon that road once again my friend, I can see for myself that I am not that proud of who I was, or of what I had become.
I wish that I could go back and try again.

So when I am a little bit older and I write this song again, will I feel like I do now?
Will I be me or will I be the man?
I do not have what it takes so I may not know how to become that man who is in control.

Those Years Have Passed

When I look up at night and all that I can see is a void from way up above that looks down upon me, I feel so immature.
And I feel obsolete.
When will we ever know for sure and will we ever meet?
