Im Gegensatz zu seinen kraftvollen technoiden Releases auf Moonplay Records zeigt sich Jens Lewandowski auf Supdub Digitales stets von seiner melodiösen Seite. Ein Beleg dafür ist seine neuste EP. Funny Face überzeugt durch eindringlich treibende Beats gepaart mit klar klangvollen Vocals. Ergänzt wird die Ende März erscheinende Platte von einem Remix von Oliver Schleenvoigt und einem weiteren klassischen gefühlvollen Lewandowski-Track.

In contrast to his powerful technoid releases through Moonplay Records, Jens Lewandowski’s work with Supdub Digitales consistently shows his more melodic side. Proof of this is his latest EP. Funny Face satisfies through its steadily pounding beats paired with clear melodious vocals. The track, to be released late March, will be supplemented with a remix by Oliver Schleenvoigt and an additional classic lyrical track by Lewandowski.

Montreal-based DJ and producer Jares is set to release his upcoming Nightcall EP on Sasha Carassis ILINX imprint. Known for blending ethereal, orchestral, and progressive sounds, Jares aims to create an inner state of euphoria and mindfulness through his music. The title track unfolds with an energetic and dynamic structure, driven by pulsating beats and an evolving rhythmic intensity. The composition builds a sense of movement and urgency, eventually giving way to a deeply atmospheric melodic break. This section introduces a dreamy ambiance that contrasts with the earlier intensity, allowing the listener to immerse themselves in a moment of emotional depth. A haunting vocal line weaves through the melody, adding a human touch that enhances the tracks expressive quality. Tommy Js version of Nightcall presents a distinct percussive-driven vision, where rhythmic elements take center stage. From the very beginning, the track is infused with intricate drum patterns and deep, resonant kicks that establish a hypnotic groove. Layers of organic and electronic percussion intertwine, creating a dynamic flow that keeps the energy pulsing throughout. Despite its rhythmic intensity, the track maintains a sense of balance, allowing space for subtle melodic elements to emerge. The final track, The Day We Found It, feels like a hypnotic voyage, built around an airy, atmospheric pad that sets a deep and immersive tone. A looping vocal sample weaves in and out, while soft percussions provide a delicate pulse, creating a fluid, natural rhythm. These elements breathe and evolve, never overpowering but rather guiding the track forward with an organic flow. At the heart of the composition lies a lead synth that emerges during the break, offering a moment of clarity and melodic introspection. Simina Grigoriu bridges the heavy and the melodic realms of techno for her inaugural EP on Kuukou Records. An experienced globetrotter, Simina is known for taking great inspiration from her travels, so it comes as no surprise that the name she’s chosen for her own label, Kuukou stands for “airport” in Japanese. 
 
Techno Monkey kicks off proceedings with a hard hitting bassline, setting a compelling audio narrative for the entire track. The melody unfolds by the way of undulating synths as well as grave bells and clangs, peppered with eerie vocals. Ron Flatter reworks the heavy hitter into a more pensive cut, gradually developing a punchy bassline. Accentuating the percussion through timbered claps and whirlwinding synths, Flatter offers a more techhouse flavoured issue of the original. 
 
Ninja Princess provides an exotic sound exploration, setting off all the elements from the get go. We’re emerged into a vibrant melody with a progressive bassline, taking us from luscious vocals to winding synths within a matter of seconds. First ones up for the rework are Austrian electrotech masterminds, Klangkarussell. With a penchant for relentless soundscapes, their reinterpretation of Simina’s track is infused with tribal drums and spacious synth loops. Next up on board is Citizen Kain, taking us on a trip to the dark side of the Ninja Princess. Gloomy kicks set a dark trippy atmosphere, while Citizen Kain strips down most of the track’s elements, resulting in a minimal yet mesmerizing approach. Alfred Heinrichs closes up the release with another minimalist and murky reconstruction. Keeping the subtle melodiousness at bay through harmonic chord arrangements, Heinrichs brings out the late night club appeal of the initial track, making for a perfect dancefloor banger.
