Patterns of Perception and Minimal Collective join forces to launch an annual VA project, Future Patterns, that invites both artists and listeners to explore the future of electronic music, and the forces that could shape it.

Available digitally and as a limited edition CD with accompanying 3D animated artwork, the first Future Patterns VA features music from C-Refund (@consumer-refund), DBR (@breezydbr), HOMI (@kiuas), Jasmín (@jasminhoek), Jay Duncan (@drumsofjay), Konduku (@kondukukonduku), Mary Lake (@marylakeworld), Nali (@n_a_li), Nicole (@nicole-popkhadze), Solid Traveller (@solidtraveller), Spekki Webu (@spekkiwebu) & Altjira (@altjiramara), Sunju Hargun (@sunjuhargun) and VC-118A (@mohlao), with 3D visualisation and artwork by Rotterdam-based, Italian-born artist Deborah Mora.

All profits from the release will be donated to German children’s charity Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk.

We imagine this VA as a continuous story, exploring different styles from drum and bass to techno, with a care on sound design and psychedelia.

Last track from Milan based Atoloi “Verde Serpente” focuses on fast synth arpeggios and shifted percussions giving the listener a real psychedelic experience.

Lyon-based producer Sindh takes listeners on a ravishing sonic voyage with his track 'Qalat,' featured in the upcoming 'Mers' compilation from the French record label and community Klape Nunsen. This mesmerizing composition showcases Sidnh's masterful ability to craft a hypnotic half-step journey that effortlessly immerses the listener into a realm of pulsating rhythms and enigmatic atmospheres.

At the core of 'Qalat' lies a low-slung kick drum, providing a solid foundation for the track's momentum. Accompanying this foundation is a meticulously crafted percussive sequence that drives the rhythm forward with its intricate patterns and rhythmic complexity. Sindh skillfully weaves layers of percussive elements, creating a rich and textured sonic tapestry that is as captivating as infectious.

A high-pitched synth sequence gracefully floating in the background adds an air of mystery and intrigue to the composition. This ethereal melody serves as a mesmerizing counterpoint to the rhythmic elements, casting a spell of curiosity and fascination over the listener. bleu noir. First and foremost, a friendship composed of Edouard-Marc and Bastien. Two companions who, in their distinct singularities, come together to converge towards a common universe. Complementarity is created from the beginning of the project to the finishing touches of their musical collaborations. A sincere, imaginative, and heartfelt approach. Random but shared experiences, such as numerous musical events ranging from concerts to festivals, inspire them. All of this leads to beautiful creations like this EP named: Naviguer à vue.

“Naviguer à vue” is the story in a fictitious and picturesque imagination, of a collective adventure taking place on a boat. The construction and launching of it, welcoming "Hordes" of people, are represented by "Recherche hivernale". A long aquatic journey through "Brume épaisse", filled with “Emergences of details”, as beautiful as they are stressful. Presented to the people on the boat is an internal and collective struggle, "Psychomachia". A battle between vice and virtue, between the humble human and the one of a self-centered and selfish society. “Inno”, floating on the surface and swimming, between two worlds, unable to leave the fluid and yet aware that it exists. A track that could have been called “Innolude”. The sound translations of these different emotions and sensitivities, vectorized by “Diversions currents then landscapes”, make this EP a true journey.

Today's premiere is the second track from this great release, "Brume épaisse." This eerie, aquatic techno odyssey is defined by a powerful bassline that builds tension like The Marin, bringing thick coastal fog over a southern seaside city.

"Brume épaisse" boasts a delicate yet murky atmosphere, perfectly grasping the essence of a late-night after-hours track.

“Naviguer à vue” EP is set for release in the second half of April.

LET’S GET WILD

Field Records continues to focus on its first run of solo artists EPs with four tracks from UK pair Szare. Before now this Frozen Border and Horizontal Ground duo has excelled in crafting cavernous bass chambers and off beat rhythms with ease - just as they do here. 

First up is ‘The Silver Number,’ a bare and bleak track with decaying synths, oversized rubber kicks and a resonant bass. It constantly evolves, riding up and down, skipping left and right and swelling with a sense of post apocalyptic optimism as it goes. ‘Buried Rails’ is a more broken beat full of out of control machines, claps and kicks and is riddled with paranoid synth lines that make for dark and involving listening. On the flip, ‘Crop Failure’ is punchy and infectious, with sparring drums and crunchy percussion backed by distant pads that hint at alien life. Finally, ‘ Overcharged by the Pump’ is am experimental concoction of celestial rising chords, menacing drums and jumbled organic percussion that sounds like little else. This EP is full of fresh ideas, fulsome production and a dark energy that makes it fit perfectly on the most recent end of the hardcore continuum.
