Primary [colours] is excited to announce the first of our two winners of the Bandcamp mix competition. We could not split the two mixes!

The competition consisted of buying the entire catalogue of Primary Colours from the Bandcamp store and creating a two hour mix from the catalogue of Primary [colours]. 

We would like to thank everyone who contributed a mix but these two stood out above the rest.

First up we would like to introduce Recardo. We hope you enjoy this well curated and meticulous mix.

Recardo is a Perth-based producer and DJ with a wide range of electronic music tastes, but always has a soft-spot for deeper sounds.

"I've always considered myself a producer first and DJ second - and that’s how I approached this mix. Once tempos from my short-listed tracks were locked in I built out the sequence a track at a time until I was happy with the flow. As everything was locked to a grid in Bitwig, I was free to take liberties with the arrangement of certain tracks, and use some sections as additional layers to keep the flow or build intensity. Finally, I mapped a custom effects rack to a MIDI controller and recorded more conventional DJ-style effects to help shape the overall dynamics of the mix."
