ABOUT MARIA Die RUHE:

MARIA Die RUHE is an electronic music producer, singer/songwriter and live performer who combines electronic rhythms with original lyrics and improvisations. She delivers Techno based beats — minimal, deep or polyrhythmic — playful and always danceable. By combining her own live songs and productions with a selection of tracks from other artists her vocals alternate between natural and FX — bold, wild, strong yet tender. An unconventional digital sound with analogue voice.

MARIA Die RUHE became infected with the electronic music bug on her first visit to a club in the early noughties. This musical awakening inspired her to dive deep into the scene, and by the late noughties her live vocals could be heard at various after hour parties in the grimy basements of Berlin.

Not content with only singing over foreign beats, she soon realised she also had a hunger for writing and producing her own material too, and so a new chapter in the story of MARIA Die RUHE was born.

Having completed her degree in acting, jazz & arts studies, as well as numerous band projects, she now lives in Leipzig, Germany, and has returned to her steady love of club music, performing her live act across Europe, celebrating with dancers and toasting the ride we call life.

Russian-born DJ & Musician ÁRT M (aka Artem Kalugin) has developed a strong passion to electronic music since his childhood. His experience of studying/working in multiple cities & countries has exposed him to broad range of music styles - from progressive trance & DnB to techno, deep house & downtempo.
Inspired by this, for the past 10 years he has been actively contributing to the electronic music scene across the cities he lived in with performances, podcasting and curation: across Moscow, Wroclaw, Dublin and now London.
ÁRT M's sound has found a unique place in the hearts of his listeners. In his sets he aims at combining ethnic rhythms with groovy vibes eventually trying to create a playful music experience for the heart and soul.

Calm down, turn it up and enjoy the flight !!

Archaeological evidence from prehistoric times suggests that the Earth was once viewed as a living, female being. Ancient texts and mythologies support the idea of a female deity associated with the earth and all life. The Phyrigian Earth Mother Kybele was one such figure among many and represented the earth, mountains, caverns, and all nature, the birth of humanity, the universe and everything in it. 

Inspired by this timeless and universal vision, this project is dedicated to featuring and celebrating the bounty and beauty of the creative works of women in music through special podcasts, original releases, and mixtapes curated by women producers, DJs, and musicians of a wide range of genres from around the world. 

In addition to highlighting the works of women in music, Kybele develops opportunities for broader inclusion of and greater collaboration among emerging and established artists  of all backgrounds through the "Friends of Kybele" series.
