About this mix:
When i started working on this mix, the intention was a bit different than how turned out. I ended up going for a mix which for me transmits a fun and vibrant mood and consists mostly of remixed songs that i first started listening to earlier in my life. Everything is connected to everything else in the universe, and the more you see those connections, the more interesting your life becomes. @dugkar’s music is all about those connections, as are our "homard" project and Rambalkoshe in general. Thank you for becoming a part of these connections. We don’t really have much to add… but we always have a lot to play. This is the last podcast we are publishing this year, so see you in 2019. Amen.

p.s. Hooponopono [ho.ʔo.po.no.po.no] is the Hawaiian word for "forgiveness" and denotes the practice of reconciliation, chiefly with yourself. A simpler definition of the concept would be the use of the mantra “I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.”

ABOUT Katí:

Did you know that only humans can hear music? Most animals hear sounds and react to beat, rhythm, volume and pitch, but at an emotional level human music is completely incomprehensible to them. 

Music is what feelings sound like. It is the universal language every person understands. 

Katí is a musical alter ego of Kateryna Tomina - a DJ by day and an event organizer by night based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Music has always been one of the central loves of her life. It started during childhood and later developed into the organization of music and art events in Ukraine - Vibronica Festival series. These days she’s making her first baby steps into the universe of djing. The music she shares is a journey through the miscellaneous worlds of Sound. She shows the diversity of musical beauty by blending dense and subtle bass lines with tropical rhythms, bouncy dub, a pinch of sharp psychedelic sound, folklore vocals and bright melodies of live instruments from all over the world.

Archaeological evidence from prehistoric times suggests that the Earth was once viewed as a living, female being. Ancient texts and mythologies support the idea of a female deity associated with the earth and all life. The Phyrigian Earth Mother Kybele was one such figure among many and represented the earth, mountains, caverns, and all nature, the birth of humanity, the universe and everything in it. 

Inspired by this timeless and universal vision, this project is dedicated to featuring and celebrating the bounty and beauty of the creative works of women in music through special podcasts, original releases, and mixtapes curated by women producers, DJs, and musicians of a wide range of genres from around the world. 

In addition to highlighting the works of women in music, Kybele develops opportunities for broader inclusion of and greater collaboration among emerging and established artists  of all backgrounds through the "Friends of Kybele" series.
