Currently experimenting with a musical style I call "Liquid Envelopes" witch depends on a generative, modular technique called "cycling envelopes" or Krell. Originally a Krell patch is not quantised, so it sounds rather otherworldly. But quantized to scale it is pure magic. My favourite is the chromatic scale, or just test different notes and listen how they fit together. Ideally there is a mix of consonant and dissonant tones, as well as conjunct and disjunct sections. I use Bitwig Grid and Phase Plant for most patches, but also VCV Rack and other modular and semi modular tools & environments.

The ultimate goal is to escape the traditional sense of melody, rhythm & harmony while still remain varied and "pleasing to the ear" - i.e. my ears :)
