McG started selecting almost a decade ago on university radio at WSUM 91.7 FM Madison, then a few years later for @sutrofm in San Fransisco. 

@spinzone_radio became a weekly show dedicated to sharing record shop finds. its early beginnings were mostly jazz-dominated then eventually took a plunge into the deep house and disco realms.

While residing in Madison, McG joined the JAMS crew to throw parties at Robinia Courtyard, opening for artists like Jkriv, Seb Wildblood, Peter Croce, Jeff Swiff, Christian James... 

Fast forward to now he's back in the heart of Minneapolis. McG recently formed "The Excavators": a DJ duo with fellow selector @qjmpls. The Excavators now host a newer series called Wax Appeal: a vinyl-focused party in Minneapolis.

This mix epitomizes The Spinzone Radio Show in all its jazziness, depth and grooviness.

Music is miles beyond a hobby for AZZA: it’s his very lifeblood. 

Decades of musical obsession always finds him listening, dancing, on aux duty, playing jazz piano, producing, digging in dusty crates, reading & discussing music journalism, and always burrowing down the next musical rabbit-hole for the rush of uncovering that next great track.  

Through a lifetime of quasi-religious concert attendance, passionate study of the dancefloor, and ten years of spinning himself, he has fostered a unique love and appreciation for the magic only a discoball and a DJ can provide – love he feels compelled to share with any who will listen. 

In every endeavor, AZZA seeks to create a story with others by journeying through the deep, dreamy, spiritual, hypnotic, and groovy with friends of twenty years and twenty seconds alike.
