Hopeless, bitter and sweet

It was like in the spy action movie. You find yourself in the middle of atomic bunker of communist era with mission to find the secret document and escape before time’s up and guardians catch you.

It was about 2 years back. We made our first escape game in the heart of Prague. And yes, we did it!!!

OK, first of all - Yes, sorry, it's in Czech... And yes, you have to notice the punk is NOT dead. And especially Czech punk is not dead.

However this song Chlupatý kolena (Hairy knees) has long story. The very first draft of few chord and basic melody crossed my mind the day after the boss of the boss of my boss announced the company’s decision to value more the price of share over the value of people and therefore the company decided to turn upside down life of my 450 colleagues. Collective dismissal.
That time the song's working name was simply - Angry.

But… time flies. Few weeks later I found myself with coffee on sunny terrace in the middle of summer. Me and my Czech friend. Let’s call her my-YouTube-channel-subscriber-#007.

Me not in very good mood, her in short skirt and in similar mood. And with not well shaved legs/knees. And that, despite the view wasn’t very funny, made us laughing like hell… That moment I said myself “damn company and damn bosses”… On the end they do the same as me – trying to do their best for their bosses and trying to deserve their wage and their yearly bonuses.

And so the original idea got twisted from Angry to something inspired by that moment making me laughing.

It took me some time to find courage and try to record the singing. Until today I sang only as kind of self-defense and so far it worked veeeery well. Hope this one will not kill you...

Chlupatý kolena

There is something amazing in art, a touch of magic, some infinity. Wondering what kind of? I tell you... Everything becomes possible by the sole power of your imagination. You can do whatever you want. It is just up to you to decide. There is no limit.

You can turn the world upside down, you can paint the sky, you can fly, you can make somebody great, famous or... contrary! And you can also explore “What if I…” scenarios. You can change the course of your life, without doubt, without fear. You can be someone else, you can become another yourself, just like that, in the twinkling of an eye.

This track is done by my alter ego, my other myself. Sometimes it dreams to leave everything behind, enjoy the independent loneliness, enjoy being without obligations, without ties, even the sweetest. When it goes free, light, emancipated quoting Sartre's Joseph and whistling "L'enfer, c'est les autres" there is always a moment, a turning point when my normal ego rebels and screams "Hell is to be alone with own ego"!

We all have an alter ego, more or less expressive and significant. The cover photo of this song is taken by MaKo, the kindred spirit and a determined multinational company manager with hidden and great artistic impetus, mostly taking shape in photography, painting and drawing...

Another project I've been working in the shadows on has finally arrived! It's been a real struggle for me attempting to work on three different types of tracks all at once- (With also college work getting in the way a bit). But nevertheless, I have been very determined to make a comeback where I'm still highly passionate about what I do in the music industry- adding  unique elements with futurism as I've been working on a few other projects. Overall, this track hasn't just been me working on it throughout the entire time - this originally was a class project I had to do with my music tutor- our whole class had to collaborate with our tutor to pass our course, which me of course decided to take this project to a whole new level- producing it to the best of my capabilities and pushing my limits to what this track has in store. 😈🎶⚡👽🥁🎶😈

Ladat, born Ladislav Tesar, is Litomerice (Czech republic) native, body and soul, who writes and composes his music in Chatel-St-Denis, Switzerland.
