With a repertoire ranging from electronics to pure piano voice, VOLTRA creates atmospheres that move effortlessly between concert halls, galleries, and clubs. His timbres range from floating synth pads and glitchy textures to intimate piano lines accompanied by expressive vocals. Toni: It's about feeling good.

Charlie: You need to feel better; that you are better than someone —

If you can only be tall because somebody is on their knees, then you have a serious problem. But don't you understand that the people who do this thing - who practice racism - are bereft. There is something distorted about the psyche. It's a huge waste, and it's a corruption, and a distortion. It's like it's a profound neurosis that nobody examines for what it is. It feels crazy. It IS crazy.

How do you feel?

But when you take it away - if I take your racism away from you - there you are all strung out, and all you've got is your little self. And what is That? What Are You Without Racism? Are you any good? Are you still strong? You still smart? You still like yourself?

How do you feel?

Charlie: And the advice is to come to grips with your own fears.

Toni: Of course. Your own fears. Your own history. And what do you need? What do you need this for?
