When you are German then there will always and always be these haunting questions which you ask yourself about the holocaust : How could this happen?  Was it the result of the human kind’s deficits in humanity canalized in a horribly perfected system of murder? Could this happen again? Here in Germany or elsewhere? Was this a German phenomenon? Am I and are my sons guilty of what our ancestors did? I will have no answers to these questions here. This is just a piece of music which evolved while I was struggling with these thoughts about human deficiency and its results.

This song began with Stephen and his friend and bandmate, Quanah Stewart who also sings this version, and who wrote the lyrics. They were in a band together for about 7 years in the early 2000s. When the band broke up, they went many years without playing together. Until, in 2018 Stephen started his TexMex shaman project and this was one of the first songs he wrote.  Quanah had moved to Austin in the meantime but on a visit back to Dallas, Stephen asked him to come over and add the vocal track you hear on the song.  
 
Fast toward to 2024 and Stephen wanted to remix this along with a few other older tunes. He asked his good friends and teammates Ken and Josh if they’d like to help, and of course, they were super enthusiastic.  This is what he had to say about the finished product. "Their parts blew me away.  Beyond what I expected and it made it a whole new song.  Very grateful to them both for their time and talent." As are Ken and Josh very grateful to Stephen for sharing his awesome rocker with us.  

The title comes from trying to think of the stupidest song title Stephen could come up with, on a bet. And it’s close. 
  Of course, Stephen did the honors of mixing and producing it. Ken and Josh had a lot of fun brining this song back to life with him, whose creativity and skill are unparalleled. We all hope you (and Quanah) enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating

THIS MOMENT

Who are we and what are we doing?

First track of a new album where I'll try to be more eclectic, with closer approach to some genres. Experimented on this one over-editing vocal line on the left, and getting midi files out of organic guitar melodies, which I could play with virtual instruments. I hope you'll enjoy a different Ruizzoid shape.

Dedicated to Germán Coppini’s ‘Golpes Bajos’, one of my favorite groups of the Spanish ‘Nueva Ola’.
