Two extremely talented and widely respected artists join forces for a fantastic Large Music debut. One track in two variations here: the original has a jazzed up laid-back vibe while the second version hits harder with a more stripped down structure. Paulinhx is a selector and multidisciplinary artist from Gasconha and the Basque Country, now spinning in Berlin, with a career spanning over 15 years across diverse dancefloors, radio waves, and cultural institutions. Blending feminist poetics, diasporic memory, and political resonance, their genre-fluid sets and sound works move between ritual, resistance, and rave.

A resident at Organ Phantom and Jazz Athletic Club Radio (Bordeaux/Toulouse), Paulinhx has performed at numerous festivals and venues including RSO Berlin, CAPC Bordeaux, and more, sharing lineups with artists such as Kotoe, Nathalie Robinson, Lady Blacktronika, RP Boo, DJ Pierre Phuture, and Linn da Quebrada.

Beyond performance, Paulinhx is committed to uplifting fellow artists, actively contributing to artist care and curatorial work across scenes. As a proud member of female:pressure, they work toward more equitable and sustainable music futures nurturing shared spaces where sound becomes a site of transformation, joy, and collective memory.

Cast your mind back to 1992. The world wide web had only just been invented, and mobile phones were for yuppies and drug dealers. The world we know today was just being born – and being born right at the same time, over in Chicago, was a little label called Large.

Large Music was the brainchild of Windy City resident Jeff Craven, who was worried that house music was in danger of being sidelined in its own birthplace, the international spotlight that had once shone on the pioneering Trax and DJ International imprints having moved on to New York labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Nervous and 8-Ball. “I thought a label with that kind of energy and underground profile could work in Chicago,” says Jeff.  So, pooling funds with a friend, he began finding talent and pressing records. Kerri Chandler's 'Raw Grooves EP' became the label's breakout release, and Large Music hasn't looked back since.

In fact, far from looking back, Large is a record label that's always been about looking forward. In the 90s, their catalogue featured the likes of DJ Sneak, Mateo & Matos and Dennis Ferrer when they were right at the start of their careers, not to mention providing a then-nascent UK garage scene with one of its most enduring anthems in the form of Roy Davis Jr's 'Gabriel'. In the 2000s, the Chicago-based label was quick to pick up on the deep and soulful house coming from the West Coast, releasing material from the likes of Halo, Jay-J, Rasoul, Miguel Migs and Julius Papp. And now as a new decade takes shape, we see Jeff embracing the techier deep house sound that's emerged out of Europe, with recent releases from the likes of Roland Nights, Evan Iff, James Dexter and Matthias Vogt.

Yet while fashions fluctuate and music mutates, one thing that hasn't changed is the Large A&R policy. It's simple: “My formula has always been to release music that I was really into and what I would play as a DJ,” says Jeff. “I'm still just as excited about house music as I was in 1992.” Which probably explains how Large has been able to stay relevant all these years – this is one veteran label that isn't content to endlessly rehash former glories, but who instead keep searching out new underground talent.

At the time of writing this, Large Music is 20 years old, with some 200 singles and 50 albums under their belt, and tracks licensed to over 400 compilations. Which means they've been putting out upfront house music on a weekly basis since before many of the people dancing to it in clubs this weekend were even born. They set out to ensure that house music didn't get sidelined in Chicago in the 90s. What they've actually achieved is to push house forward all over the world for two decades – and counting…

In times where DJs are often abused as “glorified jukeboxes” forced to play “what the crowd wants and what is popular” Dj Iwonder decided that would not be his fate. “A great DJ does not always have to give the people what they want and when they want it. A great DJ feels the room and reads the crowd. He creates an atmosphere and plays material his audience needs to hear. He will play music that is relevant and current without forgetting that he is there to rock the party.
Dj Iwonder truly is an open-format DJ. He selects music depending on the theme of the night, the crowd, and the atmosphere of the venue. Very few DJs in the Montreal scene can claim to be as versatile and versed in so many different styles of music as this gentleman is. He can play anything from 70s Disco, Funk and Soul to classic 90s  RnB and soulful contemporary Hip Hop, Dance Hall & Reggae, Afro beat & Latin rhythms to NuJazz, Broken Beat, UK Garage & Bass music to Soulful & Deep House.
