Music and singing has been a part of Larissa Svahn’s life since childhood. She started working professionally early on, performing in musicals such as “The Sound of Music,” in which she played Martha and later Birgitta. At age 10 Larissa was accepted into The Adolf Fredrik Classical Choir School of Music and embarked on what would become a comprehensive music education. She has a Diploma from Kulturama in Stockholm in both Musical Theatre and Contemporary Singing, an Advanced Diploma in Jazz Vocals from Chichester College and a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Performance of Arts from ACM in Guilford. Through it all Larissa kept singing in bands, cover bands –some, which she initiated herself- as well as collaborating with musicians and producers. She is featured on tracks like “One Night Sand” on iTunes. Larissa also taught music in programs for children. These experiences have made her an extremely versatile musician. She takes her inspiration from artists like Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Jamiroquai who she interprets when performing in her cover band “Fermata”. However it is as a funk, soul and rock singer that Larissa thrives and it is through her own material that her true talent is revealed. Her EP, “Man Up” features two original songs and is available on Soundcloud and Facebook. These newly written songs communicate from a place of strength and mixes velvety lyrics with funky fun beats. Her classically trained voice has been described as; sweet but unexpectedly feisty, with soul that one wouldn't normally expect from such a graceful little blonde's reality.
