I was evicted from my first apartment in Flint Michigan. When it came time to making a summer hit for the city I call home today (Las Vegas) A city recovering from COVID-19's deep felt impact; I knew I had to get at the great Dizzy Wright (Funk Volume). Like our city, true independent artists were impacted too. So in time of despair, we do what artists do best. And we went to work. I hope you enjoy the track as much as I enjoyed preparing it for you.

I asked T3 from the mighty group Slum Village to help me give listeners a true "Taste of Detroit". With success knocking on my door, fans often ask "what's next"? And the truth is my only plan is to stay "In My Lane" by staying true to my sound, my bars and the team that helped me achieve my dreams.
As a young man growing up in Michigan, Slum Village played an enormous part of getting me into hip-hop and had a tremendous influence on everything we would eventually do. This song is a testament to the daily grind, the daily hustle and approach it takes to make great authentic Hip-Hop.

Once upon a time there were a hip-hop collective who moved from HAWAII TO LAS VEGAS and were extremely mediocre. Instead of getting better or working with the people who can clearly help them improve, this sorry group championed a bogus record deal and turned into a boyband. Next they harbored and organized everyone they could against the one and only true king.  This group of social elites, confused by the depths of the waters, couldn't swim against the current.  But as entitled as they were, they gathered. And stroke they tried. Before they jumped into the water, they built a bank. And taxed the city as if everyone in the city should pay their dues to them. Like the village owed them because they put up a bank. I note the backstory because when the storm came to wash away the village and the people were seeking opportunity nobody helped the people who tried to tax everyone. And the bank they build became a ruined timestamp in history. In an event that would be remembered as the "October Flood"
