I am an American recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelors degree in music composition. I started learning piano at age 6 and have been composing ever since. At age 10 I began studying the clarinet. I played clarinet in woodwind ensembles and orchestras, and also played jazz saxophone. My first major influences were Beethoven, and Swing: especially Benny Goodman. I love classical music, including late Beethoven, Chopin, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Berg's Violin Concerto, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, and Shostakovich, as well as jazz including Benny Goodman, Cannonball Adderley, Dave Brubeck. I also greatly enjoy the music of Chris Thile (bluegrass), Inti Illimani, Bob Marley, and Bela Fleck.

Sabina Ulubeanu is one of the complex artistic personalities of her generation, as her work comprises composition, photography, musicology, teaching, experimental performance. Sabina is interested in bringing together space, time and memory, elements that unify the music and the visual arts. In 2011 she completed her PhD studies with the thesis „The Function of Memory in the Construction of Musical Time”, a theme that represents the artistic manifesto of the composer. Her recent works combine the two arts, adding to the music strong visual support, in exhibitions built around her photographs, multimedia works or writing music for silent films.
Currently, Sabina Ulubeanu is artistic director and  co-founder of InnerSound New Arts Festival Bucharest, the only Romanian platform dedicated to talented young artists form all disciplines.In September 2013, she became the musical reviewer and partner of the George Enescu International Festival’s website.
Sabina is also a speaker in various events, such as TEDx (Cambridge School Of Bucharest-2015), Aspen Ideas Sibiu (2016) Pecha Kucha -2012 etc.

Pèter Kőszeghy, *1971 in Hungary, Balassagyarmat.

Kőszeghy studied composition with Paul-Heinz Dittrich and electronic music with Andre Bartetzki at the HfM "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. Since his diploma in 1999 he lives in Berlin as a free-lance composer. Many of his compositions were awarded with prizes and played at festivals as Ultraschall Berlin, Ensemblia Mönchengladbach, Randspiele Zepernick, Tongyoeng International Music Festival Korea and AdeVantgarde Munich. Interpreters of his compositions were the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra,
MusikFabrik NRW, Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Ensemble Zagros, Finland,
Ensemble Aleph, France and as soloists f.e. Camilla Hoitenga, Peter Veale.

As a composer Kőszeghy doesn’t belong to any kind of aesthetic group. His musical speech often has an exciting and offensive effect. The energy inside the music produced during the performance is the most important motive in his compositorial work, in which he wants to destroy the borders of conventions. Köszeghy’s intention of "plumbing the depths" of instrumental techniques by the virtuosity of his compositions never means the end in itself but always obeys concepts of overriding importance which support the energies in his works. Many of Köszeghy’s compositions are inspired by mythology: the Greek antiquity is as important as the ancient Hungarian "Shaman"-Wisdom, with which he goes back to his own roots in the Hungarian culture.

Max Richter trained in composition and piano at Edinburgh University, at the Royal Academy of Music, and with Luciano Berio in Florence.

On completing his studies, Max co-founded the iconoclastic classical ensemble Piano Circus, where he stayed for ten years, commissioning and performing works by Arvo Pärt, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Julia Wolfe and Steve Reich.

In the late 90s he worked with a number of electronic artists, notably Future Sound of London on their album 'Dead Cities". He subsequently collaborated with FSOL over a period of two years, also contributing to the albums "The Isness" and "The Peppermint Tree and Seeds of Superconsciousness". Max also collaborated with Mercury Prize winner Roni Size, on "In the Mode".

In June 2002, Max released his debut solo album, "memoryhouse", recorded with The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. This was followed in March 2004 by FatCat's release of "The Blue Notebooks", with featured readings by Tilda Swinton.

In 2005 Max produced Vashti Bunyan's outstanding comeback album "Lookaftering".

2006 saw the release of "Songs From Before" based on Haruki Murakami texts read by Robert Wyatt. That same year, Max began performing "from The Art of Mirrors", an evolving score to previously unseen Super 8mm films of Derek Jarman.

Max's more recent work continues to stretch the notions of what Classical music is.  ‘24 Postcards In Full Colour’, released in August 2008, is an experimental work made up of 24 composed ringtones.

Max works widely in film music, installation and the theatre, most recently on INFRA, made with Wayne MacGregor and Julian Opie for The Royal Ballet, London. The Ballet was the subject of a BBC 'making of' documentary.

Max was named 2008 European Composer Of The Year for his score to Ari Folman's Waltz With Bashir, for which he was also nominated for the Prix France Musique.
