dubspeeka is back on LNOE with a very special release, his first ambient LP on the label.

It’s a lovechild born out of the lockdown, with a captivating storyline and incorporating endless sonic experimentation. The release lends itself to get fully immersed and listen all the way through.

The album shows the long way travelled by dubspeeka in their musical carreer, and slightly nods to an earlier aera. It’s like an audiobook off the different scenes, people, and experiences that have shaped dubspeeka’s musical journey until now and beyond.

dubspeeka on the project; ‘My music writing career began as Orca, this was around the time I was aware of Sasha and his work. Then I moved onto my Decoder project which was mainly drum n bass, aswell as releasing on numerous labels I also produced Peshays album “Miles From Home” for James Lavelles Mo Wax imprint in those days. Not too much later I set up Kosheen with 2 friends and released and toured extensively. I think Valley Of The Kings is a reference to everything I’ve done in the past moving forward into new territory.’

Additionally there will be two reworks more suited for the club environment on the record by Sasha and Spencer Brown respectively. These reworks take the main outlines set by dubspeeka and create a whole different space for the listener to enjoy.

A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns for its seventeenth instalment, this time curated by Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness. Regularly livestreaming extended deep sets on Twitch, Tony continually demonstrates his affinity for groove-laden tracks, and his capabilities as a selector of deep house are on show on this new four-track EP.

Kicking off the compilation, Fingerprint, a new project from Tony McGuinness, and rising Anjuna star Spencer Brown collaborate on ‘Santorini’. Leading with cascading synths and bouncing drums the dynamic duo demonstrate their renowned production techniques. 

Next up, Argentinian based DJ and producer Sebastian Sellares marks his Anjunadeep debut with ‘Garden of Eden’, featuring a bold bass and ambient melodies. Third track ‘Petrichor’, from Brazil’s RIGOONI presents a marked contrast in tone, and shows off the delicate production style that’s earned him releases on Balanced Music, The Soundgarden and Higher States.

Closing the EP is collaborative cut ‘Central Park’ from Sevastopol native Mango and Qatar’s A.M.R. Leading with emotive piano chords, the duo showcase their intricate sound design that has seen them both release on notable labels including Monstercat Silk.

Collaborations can be a truly wonderful thing, but too often in the world of music, they are driven by algorithms rather than mutual respect. We are delighted to report that in the case of Luke + Gai, their teaming up was inspired by a deep love of each other's work; and the discovery that, even working remotely, they have a natural studio chemistry.

The Anglo-Italian duo have already stormed charts and newly reopened dancefloors with a single on Lost & Found and a remix for us here at Selador of label boss Dave Seaman's irrepressible Buzzfuzzle; and a fresh take on Hooj Choons classic West on 27th Street by Killahurtz is imminent.

Before that, however, let us present their Selador debut as a partnership – two tracks that already have the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Camelphat, Nick Warren, Yousef, Guy J and Cristoph excited.

J'aime L'amour takes as its hook a vocal sample from a song by Luke's old band Suicide Sports Club, and wraps it up in a bed of shimmering synths and crisp beats, the euphoria masterfully building as the track reaches a truly epic climax.

She Just is a truly beautiful piece of chilled, melodic electronica, equally at home on a dancefloor at the right time of night, or in your headphones. It oozes both class and beauty.

Argentinian producer Ezequiel Arias returns to Anjunadeep for his first stand-alone release on the label ‘Dreamlike EP’. He debuted on the label with his stellar track ’Solar’, featured on Anjunadeep 12, and since went on to collaborate with Simon Doty on ‘Requiem’. Ezequiel’s districtive progressive house style has seen him become a staple on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat label as well as releasing on Suara, Replug and Plattenblank.

Opening the EP is title-track ‘Dreamlike’, a collaboration with fellow Argentinian FOLGAR and Chilean vocalist Paula Os. Next up is ‘Esperanza’ featuring rising melodies whilst  ‘Modern Memory’ features synocopated synths. ‘Watercolour’ closes the EP and demonstrates why Ezequiel has been supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Eelke Kleijn.

On a sunny day off, I’m on the dancefloor at a Hernan Cattaneo party, of course. He played one of the most infectious melodies I’ve heard. What is this track?

Being the nice guy he is, he let me pop up to the booth and take a picture of the ID.

“Masai” by MATIRAMIC Who is this guy? Where can I find this track? I messaged MATIRAMIC on Instagram and expressed my love for the track, which happened to be unsigned.

He was thrilled I liked it, and we offered him a release on diviine + a “Spencer Brown Rethink” for my sets. We were both so excited to make it happen.

Sound Avenue wraps up a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of ‘A Fading Dream' by Madloch & Subnode. Originally released in August of 2023 as the lead piece to the duo's 'A Fading Dream' EP, the deep dubbed-out nine-minute epic was one of depth, character and groove. Fully formed within the creative confines of the duo's Belgian studio, it was yet another chapter in Madloch & Subnode's prolific partnership, one which has succeeded in showcasing their inventive approach to composition, while remaining both club-effective and listener friendly. Moving forward, the duo wrapped up a successful 2023 with the October release of ‘September Day', a concise yet whimsical and wondrously dreamy piece of music which was celebrated for its fluttery drum arrangements and airy sense of space. With 2024 now well into its second quarter, Sound Avenue looks back on ‘A Fading Dream', inviting Figueras, Diego Moreira and Ercos Blanka to re-imagine the track for the summer season.

This is the first installment around dubspeeka’s ambient album ‘Valley of The Kings’ to be released on March 19th. dubspeeka has been releasing on the label for years and we’re really excited to present his first album on LNOE. The project kicks off with a single of the album including a deep rework by the young and highly acclaimed producer Spencer Brown.

The single ‘Geb’ certainly sets the tone for an exploration of the inner realms, taking you to a deep place and holding the attention with a captivating storyline. While the most of the world is closed off it gives the listener a chance to look inward.

The Spencer Brown rework takes a dancefloor approach to the themes outlined by dubspeeka, and proves to be right up his ally. The result is a deep and engaging ‘four to the floor’ track, which is sure to keep the mood right where you need it to be.

Spencer comments; "I’ve been a huge fan of both Last Night on Earth and dubspeeka since I was at university getting into this realm of dance music. When the opportunity arose to do a remix off of dubspeeka's beautiful new album, I fell in love with the plucks on ‘Geb.’ I created a syncopated club edit centered around the mangled plucks for my sets, and I’m grateful that Sasha and team enjoyed my interpretation. It’s an honor to be a part of the label."
