Dutch producer Nordfold returns to Anjunadeep with the release of his new double-cut ‘Letter To Lillehammer / First’. The latest in a series of EPs on Anjunadeep, this new offering demonstrates Nordfold’s flair for intricate sound design - a flair that most recently saw his track ‘Down Memory Lane’ supported by the likes of Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart.

A standout moment from James Grant & Jody Wisternoff’s set for Anjunadeep’s Open Air Prague event, the title track first made an appearance on the duo’s ‘Anjunadeep 12’ compilation earlier this year. ‘Letter to Lillehammer’ leads with soft piano melodies whilst B-side ‘First’ features a warm vocal loop and intricate percussive rhythms.

Releasing Oct.8th, the original is paired with a couple of heavyweight remixers who do not disappoint. Much like the colourful cobbled streets and lush rolling hills of his hometown of Tbilisi, Georgian-native Gacha Bakradze’s music is characteristically rich, distinct, and seductive. With his previous releases on the iconic Apollo Records praised by Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, Gacha is a stalwart of the Georgian electronic scene. Previously featured on ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 02’ in 2016, Gacha now returns with his upcoming EP - ‘Restless’.

From his nuanced command of subtle arpeggio plucks, to his careful construction of sensuous atmospheres, ‘Restless’ epitomises Gacha’s in-depth musical knowledge and production skills.

Title track ‘Restless’ is a journey through syncopated sixteenths and reverberated jungle sounds, where bongos echo off a grooving sub bass. ‘Image’ is lustrous and bright, accentuating a well-rounded bassline alongside celestial plucks. The Earth Trax remixes introduce a lo-fi aesthetic, taking it back to the old school with wide sampled breaks and 303 synthlines.

The final track, ‘Contactless’, is a Balearic ballad, its meloduious arpeggios and dark drones reminiscent of retro 80’s soundtracks, deep dreams, and early-morning walks home. ‘Restless’ is released on both digital and vinyl, Friday, 29th July.

Gacha Bakradze - Contactless

Reinier Zonneveld's Filth On Acid label comes ready with a first ever album only 18 months after launching. In that time it has released music from big names like Carl Cox, Gabriel Ananda, Bart Skils, Pig&Dan, Emmanuel Top, Coyu and many more, and this standout full length comes from Mees Salomé. It explores melodic and immersive techno, is entitled Big Thoughts Like Elephants and has 12 tracks that really journey into many different moods and grooves and the whole thing plays out with a real sense of musicianship that leaves an indelible mark.

Mees Salomé is a 22 year old producer from the Netherlands who is a self taught guitarist, piano player and drummer. He mixes real melody with solid groove and counts the likes of Reinier Zonneveld, Joris Voorn, Kolsch and many more as fans. This new album shows off a broad array of sounds and skills and is sure to make him an even more essential talent.

Things open with Natural, a tender and thoughtful deep house groove with great keys and chords that take you into outer space. Letting Go is even more out there and suspense you in beautifully ambient keys and chords as gentle, soft drums tumble below. From there the likes of Just Thoughts get a little more driven but have gorgeous vocals from Mees himself that are really emotive, and the rushing chords of Like A Flock Of Birds In The Sky that wash over you and fill you with joy.

Maybe has rubbery house drums but more expansive synths open up the track into the cosmos, Children of Men is darker and the latter half of the album shows a more club orientated sound with great grooves and heads down atmospheres. Unseen is another glorious track with celestial keys and synth lines and Sap shuts things down in epic fashion with dramatic drums and huge chords that leave you feeling cleaned and optimistic.

LNOE 126 takes a deep dive into Shadow Child’s ‘Polymod’ alias, alongside a very rewarding collaboration with Sasha on the title track ‘Full Circle’. The result is astonishing! Listening to the sounds certainly makes you feel the chemistry between these producers in the shaping of this sonic landscape. 

Polymod showcases a fresh take on raw drumbeats and deep synthesizer lines on this EP. On the title track ‘Full Circle’ Polymod and Sasha collaborated, resulting in a colourful uplifting track which is guaranteed to make you smile.

We asked Polymod how these tracks came to be; - “I made the tracks pretty quickly during lockdown, whilst jamming with my 808 and some granular synths. I love combining the grittiness of the drum production with atmospheric pads and arpeggios.. you can tap into so many vibes and feelings. ‘Full Circle’ was an unfinished idea though, and I’m stoked Sasha wanted to finish that one together”. 

This EP will include the collaboration along with three original Polymod tracks. This collection of tracks complements each other in every way. The full release will be out on October 2nd.
