When the easy part of adoration and attraction stops and the work of getting it right begins. But that is also part of a loving relationship and perhaps even the most important part of it.

No, The Helmut Bergers aren't hiding from anything. It's always present in the band's name and also in their live performance: a mixture of arrogance, bravado, a can-do attitude, total collapse, and gutter glamour. Wonderfully suited to songs that, with their seemingly effortlessly crafted melodies, are never short of hooks, choruses, and little sound ideas.

Understatement meets pathos, boredom meets restlessness, and everywhere there's that twitchy melancholy that belongs to the aftermath of every euphoric night of partying.

They neither view the kids as lost, nor garnish the shattered pop promises with cynicism. Rather, The Helmut Bergers succeed in the paradox of viewing and pursuing pop music with a very clear and seemingly serene perspective, as something that, despite much opposition, still deserves to be believed in. Glamour, as we all know, doesn't exist without drama, decay, decadence, and dirty underwear. Everything else is bling.


Acid House

You could say that the Swedish-Austrian brothers' second album is “human” – in the best sense of the word. With Human, they present a work that delves deep into the emotional spectrum of being human. Between indie pop, Nordic melancholy, and exuberant joy of sound, they create a vibe that sounds both familiar and surprising.

The music is reminiscent of Shout Out Louds in its bittersweet playfulness, while at the same time breaking boundaries like Vampire Weekend – sometimes wild, sometimes sweet, always honest. Human is a journey through the maze of emotions: it's about growing up, love, loss, depression, fear, and anger – but also about hope, desire, and nostalgia. Stories of pure lightness meet existential heaviness, always carried by an irrepressible desire to tell stories and a sense for rousing melodies.

The album was produced by the long-time companion Peter Paul Aufreiter (Olympique, Maija, Hearts Hearts, Kids n Cats, Mavi Phoenix, Clara Luzia, and many more), who once again lends the sound depth, subtlety, and the courage to be unconventional.
