The New Album 'Birds That Flew and Ships That Sailed' - Out Now

LUCY PEACH
The “wonderfully engaging and tremendously gifted performer” (AU Review) Lucy Peach has once again returned to the studio. The new single new Be So Good, features the organic, acoustic instrumentation that first made her so beloved by Perth audiences- the perfect accompaniment to her “pitch-perfect voice” (The Music) and disarmingly earnest songwriting.

Released in the Spring of 2011, Peach’s debut EP Wax and Wane was welcomed to much acclaim and anticipation. Recorded by Malcolm Clark (Sleepy Jackson) at Yo Yo Studios, the release saw the artist added to coveted Perth lineups including Beaufort Street Festival (2012)  and Hidden Treasures (2013). A captured live performance of her song Golden Days from a Sofar Sounds event in 2013 has stacked up an impressive 40 000 views and adoring remarks through the global platform, confirming this local darling as a world class act to be reckoned with.

Soaring wherever the wind takes her, Lucy has toured internationally to her Father’s home ground in New Zealand, and has recently returned from supporting the inimitable Mama Kin on the Irish leg of her September 2015 tour. Her songwriting and live presence has won the approval of fellow musicians and industry, supporting the eclectic likes of Tim Finn, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Abbe May, Tim Rogers and Dave Graney in the last few years.

Recorded by Joel Quartermain at Wasteland Studios, the new Single Be So Good saw Lucy Peach accompanied by Lee Jones (The Sun Orchestra, Ruby Boots, Eskimo Joe, Sleepy Jackson, Spencer Tracy) on pedal steel, piano and is described as a talisman in the studio by Peach. The release boasts a music video to match, filmed by the inspiration behind the song itself, Richard Berney. The video was captured throughout a year of Lucy singing the song to him across Australia and New Zealand - and incidentally culminated in an off-camera marriage proposal. A true sentiment to the honest and heartwarming songwriting she is known and loved for, Lucy Peach is set to release a follow-up EP to the new track later in Summer.

Hailing from the south west of Western Australia is Latehorse - a solo folk rock singer songwriter. With a distinctive voice and heartfelt lyrics, he is gaining popularity in the live local music scene and further afield as an emerging Australian artist.

Latehorse released his debut EP ‘To The Bloom’ in December 2013, recorded and produced by Noah Shilkin of Sonic Lolly in Margaret River WA and mastered by William Bowden. The album is a thought provoking mix of percussive guitar and raw vocals. Several tracks have been broadcast on community radio stations Australia wide as part of Amrap’s Airit program.

Following on from the success of the EP, Latehorse was accepted as a Full Writer Member of APRA and featured on West Australian Music’s (WAM) ‘Sounds of the South West’ compilation album with his track Hungry For Your Love. 

Latehorse has performed at the Perth State of the Art Festival, Nannup Music Festival and Emergence Creative Festival, along with other local festivals and venues. He has also recently been invited to open for iconic rock band ‘Dragon’ at their concert in Bunbury WA in February 2015 as part of their Endless Summer Tour.

Pairing whimsical folk tunes with edgy rock rhythms, his music aims to engage and intrigue.


Ralway Bell

Alt Country five-piece Ralway Bell, are earning a solid reputation in the Wild West as a favourite of the genre by both city and country music folks alike. 

This Alt Country outfit channel Indi and Blues Rock influences through their whisky soaked tales of love and despair. Rich guitar tones and sweet pedal steel licks colour their sturdy denim rhythms - which have graced the stages of many great bars and festivals in rural and metro WA. 

As recent winners of the 2017 WAM Song of The Year (Country) and 2016 Country Group of the Year (WA Country Music Awards) along with nominations for Best Country Group in 2015 & 2016 for the WAM Awards, Ralway Bell are about embark on their first national tour (September/October 2017) to support the release of their debut album ‘Dear Friends’(due October 2017).
