The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. Massive thanks to all the dancers, the Sustain staff (Aurora, Ash and everybody else who put their blood, sweat and tears into this), the music makers, the birds, the stars.

I played on a hot, sweaty afternoon during day 2—just as the sun was starting to cool down and the music heads that made up this special crowd were starting to get in all their feels. LOIF took over after me with his live set, carrying us into the darker hours of the night with his sexy psy vibes. It was such a magical moment, and I’m so glad to have it captured in this recording!"

The theme and the work are in line with the signature of the DJ and producer formerly based in Rotterdam: more broken beat techno, with an enigmatic aura and details designed to bring seriousness and attention to the dance floor.

The EP, which follows “Weapons of the Weak” (2023), also released by Diffuse Reality, then shows this broken techno inspiration, with lots of meticulous percussion, spaces that remind us of Maomenos' taste for slower dance or even wobbles that point to bass music.
