The season was upon them and summer had now passed. Sat in cafes up and down cobbled streets they pensively wondered what might come next. As they sat around a table they began to gather their thoughts collectively for the year ahead. It would be busy. 

Ransom Note continues its love affair with Lyon as we premiere a track from friend of the site Markus Gibb. He appears alongside a number of up and coming producers on the newly launched record label Kump.

This version slept on my harddisk for some weeks, and I worked on it a few days ago. Again, with the principles of endless recycling and re-using existing material, this version seems to be quite fresh, but including some familiar sounds at the same time.

The good thing about this series is that with each track, the possibilities and ideas strongly potentiate themselves upwards, since in each new version the merged sound material of different older versions is brought together, which in consequence is again the ground for a new version and the spectrum is enlarged again - that's why there are so many aspects in the Wanderer's Path series. 

From a certain number of tracks, it is simply impossible to exhaust all resources in this diversity. I still have ideas for 10 or 20 further titles, but I'd like to finish the series now and publish it in a big release with several CDs. Therefore, when I make new versions or finish old ones, I try to keep the spirit of the piece in which it was forged, even if one or the other was started long ago. In a way, this also shows how my musical fingerprint has evolved and changed over the years, and which remained the same as my own principles, since the WP has now emerged as my biggest ongoing project since 2012, to illustrate the diversity of the stories and to emphasize aspects. 

Still, I am very excited about the idea of ​​recycling music in nature and of using old vintage equipment and synthesizers with the right spice on the one hand and sampling my own works over and over again because working with samples is one thing very nice thing.

«도로 – это дорога, 시각 – это время». Так называется композиция, которую мы, Кирилл, Алина, Марк и Анатолий, aka KAMA collective, записали для конкурса Онфим. Песня исполнена на корейском языке. Почему на корейском? Возможно, потому что мы очень любим K-pop, район Гангнам или нунчи – это, своего рода, эмпатия по-корейски. А может быть 우리 중 일부는 한국 회사에서 일합니다…

Когда мы думали над обложкой, отталкивались от того, что корейские "иероглифы" для человека, не владеющего языком, могут быть похожи на рисунки Онфима. И самому Онфиму они, возможно, показались бы намного более близкими и понятными, чем наша повседневность, полная абстрактных явлений, понятий и категорий. Долгая, очень долгая дорога ведёт из Новгорода XIII века до той территории, что позже станет Кореей. Очень много минут, секунд, лет и веков, черточек и палочек, отделяет Онфима от наших дней. «도로 – это дорога, 시각 – это время.

Корея - страна контрастов. Но если попытаться уточнить, какая именно из 2-х Корей, то ответ не будет однозначным. Скорее всего - обе. История простого географического разделения народа по 38-й параллели и дальнейшее развитие двух стран – довольно точная метафора для того, что зачастую происходит внутри нас. Именно через борьбу и взаимодействие частей целого, согласно корейской народной мудрости, возможны развитие и переход на новый уровень. Так происходит и в нашей песне, в которой лирический герой духовно растет, ищет равновесие и, судя по всему, находит его в завершающей части.

Laurent Colson is a French composer, producer, and remixer known for his intricately programmed synthesized vocals and immersive electronic soundscapes.
