Hi everyone, 

this is my set from this year's Beats For Love festival. We were allowed to play for 5k party people in Czech Republic. I love to play at this festival, it's kind of a unique industrial location and I recommend everyone to visit this amazing place. It's run by great people and I can say they are my friends. 

I hope you enjoy this one hour and 23 minutes full of the heavier side of drum & bass. That's what they love there. I produce more deeper / minimal edged drum & bass nowadays, but this doesn't mean I don't love hard stuff anymore. I know my roots and I love them and will never forget them. I will always play hard sets besides my deep / minimal / 140 ones which I love too.

I hope this is not too confusing for the people / fans, but in the end it's  music we all love. 

So enjoy, and let me know what you think. I really hope all things will be all right again soon as before this happened. I need to say also this was a safe event, with all necessary processes on it, tests etc. 

Tracklist: That would be way too long, but I guess you know most of the tunes anyway, except for a few dubs I played in.

Ahojte všichni,

tohle je můj set z letošního Beats For Love festivalu. Bylo nám umožněno zahrát pro 5 tis. návštěvníků. Miluju hraní na tomto festivalu. Je to unikátní industriální prostor and každému z vás doporučuji ho navštívit. Je veden úžasnými lidmi, o kterých můžu říct, že jsou mí přátelé.

Doufám, že si tuto hodinu a 23 minut plných tvrdšího odvětví drum & bassu užijete. To co zde mají rádi. Momentálně je má produkce více deep / minimal drum & bass, ale to neznamená, že už nemám rád tvrdší věci. Znám svoje kořeny, miluju je a nikdy na ně nezapomenu. Vždy budu hrát i tvrdší sety kromě mých deep / minimal / 140, které také miluju. 

Doufám, že to není pro lidi / fanoušky příliš matoucí, ale koneckonců jde přece o hudbu, kterou všichni tak milujeme.

Užijte si to a dejte mi vědět váš názor. Opravdu doufám, že vše vše bude zase v pořádku, jako předtím. Musím říce, že se jednalo beznečnou akci se všemi nezbytnými procesy, testy atd.

Tracklist: Byl by příliš dlouhý, ale hádám, že všechny mé skladby už stejně znáte, až na pár nevydaných, které jsem zahrál.

If you’ve been keeping your eye on the Los Angeles D&B scene, then you’ll know all about Slogun and iOh. Hailed as “Ones to Watch” by Kmag in 2013, their deep respect for junglist history and culture has fuelled a steady rise to prominence both as DJs and producers. Now, they’re ready to take the next step, and make their mark on the international scene
as part of the Technique roster.

So, after the warning shot of Razor Sharp on the 15 Years of Technique LP, it’s time to welcome the team now known as Kronology with their first full release.

You & Me kicks off proceedings in an unmistakeably US style. Evolving house keys establish the percussive heart of the track as classic synth tones add a touch of euphoria. Then a rising siren provides a call to action, delivered on by a funk-filled pizzicato bass and ultra-crisp drums. With this one, Kronology manage to balance an effortless, liquid vibe with rolling rhythms that aim straight at the dance floor.

On Submerge, Kronology team up with some fellow Los Angelians, the DJs, live performers and producers Divine Elements. The result is some highly grimy bass and mightily hard drums all topped off with some finely chopped samples. At its core, this track is all about that rhythmic motif in the low-end, an irresistible rave engine which this production supergroup constantly disassemble and re-engineer to keep this fresh from beginning to end.

Then Kronology recruit the singer-songwriter known as Without My Armor, to show a whole new facet to their work. Monster opens into a claustrophobic atmosphere, with dark pads vying for space with the vocals and creating a level of tension that begs for relief. And that relief comes as the bassline and counter-balancing mid-range bursts onto the scene. The contrast between the constricted metal influence that weaves through the track and the open, big-room sound gives this a vibe all of its own.

So Kronology have arrived, and they’ve got some flavours that you might not have heard before. While fully immersed in drum and bass music, they’ve brought their own influences of American EDM, house, punk and metal to work into the formula. Straight out of the San Fernando Valley, here’s something new for the D&B scene, encapsulated in their first release, the Timelapse EP.

The Monstercat Best of 2016 compilation is a special time for us. It provides a snapshot of all of our accomplishments in the past year, both our successes and our struggles. This year has seen a departure from our focus on genre classification. Often times these titles become the focus of discussion surrounding a release, and can sometimes overshadow the inspiration behind the song. We believe that in order for the entire community to continue to grow, we must set aside labels, and focus on the individuality of each artist. With that being said, in addition to our Best of 2016 album, we are also launching the final Best of Genre compilations to mark the end of a much loved Monstercat tradition.

MIZO returns to NEUROPUNK RECORDINGS with the ROCKFALL EP, which bears forth five of the producer's sinister sonics unto eagerly awaiting ears. Following the producer’s recent efforts including his Icy Wyrm EP on Eatbrain and his previous single Hellhound//Mechanical paw on NEUROPUNK, ROCKFALL sees MIZO deliver another set of sonics in the style for which he has become notorious, blending unrestrained aggression and uniquely tinged synth tonalities across the EP’s five tracks.

ESHELON opens the EP from on high, driving its way towards a sonic precipice on the back of a syncopated rhythm that rebounds and resounds within a set of deviously dissonant synth stabs. From this precipice then launches the frenetic percussion of ROCKFALL, within which tumbles an electric arpeggio that only amplifies the track’s already blinding rhythmic speed. BAD DREAMS next lashes out with the nightmarish timbre of its slithering basslines, which wind their way through the track’s mysterious atmosphere and pause only briefly as they prepare to strike a second time. PATHOGEN follows this display by warping its own basses into monstrously mutated forms, and is followed by ROLL DEEP featuring MC KRYPTOMEDIC, who’s minimalistic lyrical rhythms provide a funk fueled closing for the EP’s final track.

With the ROCKFALL EP MIZO places his production talents on clear display as he imbues the five tracks within with an inimitable energy that finds a fitting home on NEUROPUNK RECORDINGS.

Birmingham’s very own Disrupta makes his debut appearance on Zinc’s Bingo Bass with the double A side release of ‘UFO’ and ‘Bongo Lover’. With previous releases on Born On Road and Co-Lab Recordings plus a popular bootleg of a well known Redlight tune, it’s no doubt his time to shine.
 
‘UFO’ is all about dreamy synth pads, melodic intros and big soundscapes until aliens decide to crash the party, bringing with them a ton of B movie vibes, vocal stabs and Disrupta trademark rumbles. The flip, ‘Bongo Lover’ chucks a load of production flair all over the place with chopped up breaks and vox which really set the tone for this funky roller. Add to the mix a few 90’s rave pads and pitch bent bass and you’re onto a winner here.
