New tunes

Correspondants 28th release, Polina, delivers another brooding, evocative EP for the label, this time from the Agents of Time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. The Italian trio of Andrea Di Ceglie, Fedele Ladisa, and Luigi Tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via Stem Records in January of the following year. The group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.

Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Madrid native Dennis Cruz makes his Solid Grooves Records debut with three rumbling cuts including a remix from fellow countryman Wade.

Since his debut in 2010, Cruz has become a staple in Beatport’s charts, not to mention the sets of artists such as Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and Roger Sanchez. Throughout this time the likely producer has dropped releases on Saved, Deeperfect, Stereo Productions and Kinetika, not to mention his very own imprint Lemon-Aid Music. He now arrives on PAWSA & Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves Records, joining the likes of Wade, Kuo Climax and Rockwell & Landers for an exciting second year for the label.

Initiating with the sound of a roaring crowd, ‘See Line’ was produced with the dancefloor in mind using thudding kicks, arcane vocal samples and an energetic rhythm. ‘Heads or Cruz’ is a more low-slung number with a focus on a killer groove, whilst ‘Bienvenido’ engages in a medley of percussive elements geared for peaktime antics. Tying the package together, Wade remixes ‘See Line’ to give it his signature twist whilst ensuring the heady vocals reiterate throughout.

Sasse’s now 20 year strong Moodmusic is proud to present the first in a brand new mix compilation series from one of its close friends, Ed Ed. Featuring an exclusive selection of 16 tracks, the Berlin based German has overseen every stage of the Eclectic 01 project and as such it is a very personal one that has been carefully nurtured from start to finish.
Ed Ed is Edmond Weinfeld, a producer and DJ of 20 years who has released his moody house wares on labels like DFTD and Noir as well, of course, as on Moodmusic, where he has released originals and remixes to great acclaim. This project has been his own little baby as he has unearthed and signed all the tracks himself. Inspired by his own cultured DJ sets, the mix plays out like a series of stories for the dance floor and finds him pulling together refreshing new tracks from exciting names in both Berlin and further afield around Europe.
Mixing up both newcomers with more established name like Kiki and David Keno, the sounds range from long and haunting tracks full of atmosphere via glistening electronica and deep, heady techno. Perfect for those late night sessions and playing out like a full night in a club, Eclectic 01 is full of surprises and promises to be a much loved series for fans of many forms of underground club music.

In the early nineties, DJ Pierre would release a track that would come to define a sound and serve as a precedent for its genre. Now ‘Let Music Take You High’ is back on Get Physical Music. 
Laid in the capable hands of some of our top talent, we present five outstanding remixes alongside the 'Original Yo Yo’ and 'Vocal’ mixes, including DJ Pierre’s new Wild PiTcH Mix. And speaking of, the first stop is the new Wild PiTcH Mix, where DJ Pierre has turned up the intensity and thrown a fair bit of grit in for good measure. Curated for the modern dancefloor, the track delivers a strong punch and a seductive groove. 
Kevin Over takes the track into a darker, more ominous direction – worthy of the underground – while displaying a brilliant feel for the house rhythm. 
Midway through and we’ve got Olivier Giacomotto’s remix up. Laying down a very inviting atmosphere down before catching us with a grungy bassline sequence, the track is a step in a new direction, using the vocal element sparingly yet cleverly. 
Before treating us to the muted crunch of the bassline, System of Survival first enchant us with a warm and soothing intro. 
The final remix come from one of Brazil’s finest; Davis. He’s gone heavy here, throwing down a kick made for the hungry floors. From here on it’s pure magic, a delicate blend of techno and house that almost lands closer to techno than house.
