Some points of benefit from the lecture:

-  The importance of true unity.
-  Happiness is tied to our obedience of the Prophet, following him sincerely and faithfully – this is the only way the Ummah will be rectified.
-  Our focus should be to hold onto the verse: “and hold on firmly, all of you to the rope of Allah together and do not be divided….”
-  Matters of disputation would disappear if we returned them to the Book of Allah and the Messenger of Allah
-  The Salafi Methodology is the Truth, it is a blessing. The people of innovation conspire and plot to stop its spread. 
-  Division should be cut off at its roots, not just branches. The roots being desires, fanaticism etc..
-  The Salafees cooperate with one another wherever they are.

- Imām ash-Shāfi’ī (رحمه الله) on wherein lies happiness and destruction. 

- Ḥasan al-Baṣrī (رحمه الله) on planting seeds in the worldly life that will be harvested in the hereafter.

- A warning for those beguiled by the worldly life. 

- The ultimate return to Allāh that no one can escape. 

- Ten means of success and salvation in this world and the hereafter:

- 1. Taqwā of Allāh.

- 2. Clinging to the way of the Messenger ﷺ and what the Companions (رضى الله عنهم) were upon. 

- 3. Clinging to the correct Islamic belief. 

- 4. Commanding the good and forbidding the evil.

- 5. Truthfulness and fulfilling contracts/agreements.

- 6. Tawbah.

- 7. Migrating for the Sake of Allāh from the lands of disbelief and striving in His Cause.

- 8. Loving for our brother what we love for ourselves. 

- 9. Diligently preserving the prayer. 

- 10. Purifying our souls and abandoning sins.

Mistakes Made When Seeking Marriage -- Aboo Moosaa Raha Batts

Question to Shaykh Anwar Wright:  In the city of Vancouver, Canada, there are a number of graduates from the Islamic universities in Saudi Arabia. In some cases, they have set up classes in centres and masjids not known for salafiyyah. Some of the youth who are new to salafiyyah have gathered around them. However, they have some questions about this. When they ask these individuals what scholars they take from, they will mention some of the kibar (major scholars). When it comes to teaching they will teach from popular books of aqidah (i.e. Kitāb al-Tawḥīd, Ṣifah Ṣalāt al-Nabī etc.). However, in some cases, if they are asked about Salafis who preceded them (in the daʿwah), like when asked about Salafi Publications they give obscure answers such as, “we do not know anything bad of them" or when asked about TROID (which has been present in Canada for 27 years), they say: “I’m not aware of them”. What is your advice to the young Salafi who is trying to ascertain who to take knowledge from in the West?

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

- Sa’īd b. Jubayr (رحمه الله) on the verse, “Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.” [Sūrah Yā Sīn 36:12]
- The three deeds that remain for the deceased. 
- How the father of Mu’tamar b. Sulaymān (رحمه الله) consoled him when he saw him grieving the death of his friend.
- Being raised with those whom we love.
- Striving to die upon righteousness and piety.
- Shaykh al-Albānī (رحمه الله) on consoling the family and close ones of the deceased.
- Condolences given by the Prophet ﷺ to a Companion who lost his young son.
- The reward on the Day of Resurrection for the one who consoled his believing brother in a calamity or time of grief.
- Shaykh al-Albānī (رحمه الله) on the manner in which you console one who is grieving. 
- The bid’ah of gathering in a home or masjid to receive condolences and mourn the dead.
- Imām an-Nawawī (رحمه الله) on the best manner of offering condolences.
- The du’ā of the Prophet ﷺ for Abū Salamah (رضى الله عنه) upon his death.
