Here is how it's done information, for the tech-junkies, like me. I played Arturia’s plug-in synths. The bassline synth is the MiniMoog V. Extended outro is done with ARP2600. Drums and pads are from Korg Gadget app and IK Multimedia. Beat is locked at 96 bpm.  I spiced and sugared it  with variety of IK Multimedia tools. All work is done on Ableton Live9. Hope you like the outcome!

“Jesus & Guns” is country singer Eric Durrance’s response to the growing debate between supporters of the Second Amendment and those seeking to restrict gun ownership rights in America.  One Stop Country says it is "exactly what is needed on country radio today."

“This song wasn’t meant to be political when I wrote it; it’s just about the values I was raised with,” Durrance says. “It says to protect your family because there’s always going to be a wolf at the door. When my dad gave me his shotgun, he had that talk with me. I think we’re getting into a situation where everybody needs to have that talk.”

Durrance, former lead singer of the acclaimed Christian rock band Big Dismal, has been focusing on country music in recent years. He previously toured as a solo opening act with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum, and later co-wrote Jake Owen’s hit single “Eight Second Ride.” In 2013, he released the single “That’s Country” featuring Colt Ford. His song “I Wanna Dance With You” was also featured in the soundtrack of “The Dance,” a short film produced by ABC Entertainment as part of the network’s “Home for the Holidays” digital series in 2013.

“’Jesus & Guns’ has always been a fan-favorite, everywhere we play,” Durrance says. “I realize the title might seem provocative, but all I’m saying is that the Bible is your spiritual gun against evil.”

Jamn' my Fender Strat the other day, found some nice chords progression. Built something around it same day, using LogicX on Mac. Unrefined and unpolished playing, guys. Layered bass, rhythm and played impromptu solo over. I dug up the rack from a hard-drive, so this couple years recording comes as-is, no refinments. Contains pure inspiration with the mistakes provided :)   Juss having some fun...  :D

A month or so back my good friend Ian Tait messaged and sent me a cover of a Deep Purple song he had done the music to, and asked if I would like to sing it. Well to be honest normally I would jump at the chance, but when I seen the song of theirs he wanted me to sing, I knew it would not suit my voice and instantly another clouders voice who I knew who would be perfect to do the job sprang to mind. So I gave him my recommendation for the job and told Ian to get in touch with him.

Now I do not know if Ian had done, but as he asked me in the first place, it was about a month prior to this, I happened to hear a superb instrumental piece he put out on his cloud, he entitled "Le Mans" and at the time I heard the piece I actually thought about messaging Ian myself to ask him if I could write some lyrics to it and sing it. So now was my perfect opportunity to ask him, as I did not really want to let him down in the first place.

There is no doubt in my mind that Ian's instrumental track "Le Mans" is bang on perfect to the title of the famous motor racing event and sport. Ian had also mentioned to me at the time he sent me his music, that I could change the title if I liked, and as a rule I never like to, as it already gives me a subject matter to write about and in reality is a great starting point. But straight away I knew that this particular subject of motor racing was never gonna be something I wanted to write about. Simply because this sport and cars for that matter do not interest me one bit. So I very much decided to change the title to "Breaking Point" and go in an entirely different direction regarding the subject matter for the lyrics I wrote here, to which I still feel works very well with Ian's superb music. 

In order to make "Breaking Point" work for me as a singer, I very much had to chop up Ian's music and rearrange and piece it together to suit all the parts I wanted to sing in it. In doing so, I had to throw out a lot of Ian's great guitar work, and even though my version is only 1 minute shorter than Ian's, there is in fact a lot more I have thrown out of his original piece to make this work. So I really do suggest you do if you get the chance, give Ian's original track a blast, it really is superb.

I would like to thank my good friend Ian for giving me licence to dissect his great music and make this Rock in another light.

Lifehouse - Always Somewhere Close

I very much started out playing instruments very late in life, and spent much of my earlier days listening to it, rather than playing it. I am very much a self taught musician and regard my instruments very much like implements, tools or devices to write with, rather than being anything remotely near a good playing musician of any great technique. 

I guess I really got into instruments more back in 1994 when I got into my first band (though I did learn to play the Harmonica when I was 8 years old) it was around this time I wrote a song on the Guitar entitled Oldtime Street. The song is very much even today one that contains some of the finest lyrics I have ever written, and very much perhaps inspired me to carry on.

Though the band back in 1994 was a very short affair, it was not long after I got into a R&B band performing Rock & Blues in various pubs around my own town Birmingham. I was very much the lead singer in this outfit which lasted some 6 years. Though during these years the band had gone through several line up and name changes and came to a stop in 2001. I suppose it was a bit of relief in a sense, because it's quite easy to put a band together, but murder to keep everyone happy, and keep it going.

Even though I only really did Vocals and played my Harmonica in the band, I still found time now and then, for my guitar, and my keyboards at home, and I also contributed in a big way to our own compositions in the band.
