Betoko began working on "I’m a Gin" 18 months ago in the renown Red Bus Recording Studios where George Michael, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Tina Turner, Jocelyn Brown and Imagination themselves have all recorded and where Betoko produces his work today. 
 
Betoko's idea behind "Im a Gin" was to revive the original retro-funky Imagination vibe.  "Im a Gin" contains elements of the authentic track using those same stems from the original; and produced by Betoko in the same studio where Imagination originally produced all of their tracks, they and Betoko used the same compressors, keyboards and console creating the highest sonic quality sound.

Here is Modern Amusement Podcast 03...I was enjoying a caipirinha in my hotel room on my last night in Sao Paulo this weekend, when I heard a rapid metallic knock at the door…   Thinking it was an errant room service, when I opened the door and saw nothing I was shocked…

Until I heard a series of bleeps and tones and a shiver coming from the ground and looked down.  I was surprised to see b6 the backwards motion robot again.  He was shivering and cold to the touch and his outstretched claw held a disc labeled “Lee Foss – Modern Amusement Podcast 03”   below was a a message from a future me that this was a recording of an old school house set from the early 2000's played at the 2088 Neptune Ball.  While excited to see more evidence that in the future both time travel and planetary colonies are possible I was disappointed that once again there was no tracklisting on the disc.

In the midst of the increasingly popular house music hurricane comes a fresh two track EP from one of the movement’s most promising talents, Richy Ahmed. Taking cues from hip-hop, techno, funk and disco, ‘The Drums’ EP arrives on the 2nd of December via Hot Creations.

Just stretching his limbs in terms of his discography, in less than two years the London-based producer has gathered some series attention. From 2011’s slinky, deep house mover 'Suck It' (Hot Creations) to his 80's chicago manipulation remix of Infinity Ink's 'Infinity', there’s always an enviable glisten about his work. His wizardry behind the decks lead to him being named resident DJ at DC10's Paradise this summer with the season coming to an end in late September.

'The Drums' got its maiden plays during Richy's Boiler Room Set and the takeovers of Paradise Ibiza. The EP steps out of the blocks with definite verve. Title track, 'The Drums', a hip-house barnstormer of a track it massages a buttery-smooth rolling bassline into a four-to-the-floor backdrop with contagious results. Legend, Kevin Knapp, jumps on vocal duty dropping in and out with praise to 'the drums'. On the flip side, '101 Jam' is a rolling analogue slice of deep house brilliance. Here, Richy pitches skittering hi-hats and hyperactive synth movements atop a robust bassline foundation. It proves homage to the brand of house celebrated right from the genre’s genesis.

The BPM Festival and No.19 Music are proud to announce the release of the first official compilation album from Mexico’s hugely successful annual electronic music festival, compiled & mixed by the one and only Art Department. The compilation is the first chapter in a planned series that will see two editions a year from some of the festival’s favorite artists and who better to kick things off than BPM linchpins Art Department, who draw on their close bond with the festival to deliver something truly special. Released in late January, the magical selection will showcase the sorts of sounds and styles you will encounter at the much-loved cultural event that is BPM, all expertly mixed by the hugely influential duo of Jonny White & Kenny Glasgow.
 
The BPM Festival itself has become a go-to place for the finest artists and most clued-up clubbers each New Year. Playing out on Playa Del Carmen’s world-class beaches, it’s a place to relax and recuperate in the company of some of house, techno and electro’s essential artists and has been a key date on the dance music calendar for Art Department & No.19 Music for many years.
 
The mix kicks off with a brace of tracks from German producer Oskar Offerman and sets off a wonderfully deep-seated groove in the process. From there it’s a perfectly programmed and tightly woven selection that touches on deftly tousled house from Deniz Kurtel, tracky tech from Boris Horel and plenty of celestial melodies of the sort that have you looking to the sky.
 
A certain highlight of the mix is the Mind Against 909 Remix of Art Department’s own timeless anthem, "Sun Comes UP" whilst other No 19. Music stars such as Eric Volta and Louie Fresco also appear with essential and unique offerings that really stand out.
 
There are also some fine artists from a wider sphere enlisted, namely Canadian techno maestro Mathew Jonson with his excellent remix of VCMG, Swiss men Ripperton and Deetron and Innervisions associate Marcus Worgull.
 
Of course nothing will compare with being at the festival itself, but the captivating 'BPM001 mixed by Art Department' is about as close as you will get to the experience without leaving the comfort of your own hood.

"It Was Our" is the second track, also deep and intense with pulsating synth bass, more of those soul vocals, a killer house beat and great key arrangements to wrap it up.

Few DJs have made such a dramatic impact on the underground house and techno scene over the last two years as Hot Creations label owner Lee Foss. Described by DJ Mag as “one of the most talented new forces in modern dance music today” and by fellow future house innovators Art Department as their favourite producer, Lee has quickly catapulted himself into dance music’s collective consciousness. 



Lee and his Hot Creations label co-owner Jamie Jones currently spearhead a whole family of like-minded producers that includes Robert James, Russ Yallop, Richy Ahmed, Danny Daze and most recently wAFF who are currently re-writing the rulebook of how to make evocative and emotive house music.
