Light After Darkness

Sophia Alexandra, is a Toronto-based DJ and vocalist. Through her selections she has cultivated a distinctive style that merges melodic overtones and rhythms from diverse genres. Playing wide ranging sets that encompass her ever evolving taste in sound, her selections often live among the more melodic, atmospheric and textural elements. Yet are rooted in the driving fusion of electro, breaks, and bass driven house and techno. Her mixes convey a sense of deep intensity with light-hearted complexity, encouraging an energetic and playful dancefloor.

As a vocalist Sophia has gained support from local producer Pick a Piper, with whom she has toured locally and internationally. She has performed at festivals and clubs throughout Canada and Colombia, sharing the stage with globally renowned artists like Ghetto Kumbé, Systema Solar, and Uproot Andy.

Sophia also hosts and curates Mixology, a weekly Wednesday night event in Toronto. With the intention of championing the dance community, she showcases local and touring DJs and platforms diverse lineups that foster connections in the local electronic scene.

Toronto-based LeeLee Mishi is known for her smooth sets of deep, jazz-infused house and minimal techno. She started DJing with deep house vinyl in 2000 and her style evolved to more minimal sounds when she switched to digital in late 2007. LeeLee's current sets often blur the line between house and techno, with bouncy bass lines and playful grooves that keep the dance floor moving.

Along with Zuzana Grimm and Tal (Faetal), she created and hosted the Cyclelogic monthly to showcase local female DJs and producers, and was a resident at the long-running underground weekly Archi-textures.

She has played alongside international talent such as Magda, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Daniel Bell, John Acquaviva, Robag Wruhme, and Robert Babicz at late night venues and various outdoor events such as Promise Cherry Beach, Harvest Festival, Camp Summerdaze, Om Summer Solstice Festival and Burning Man.

LeeLee is a founding member of the Suma collective whose signature Om Festival drew global fans from 1998 to 2004.
