Impex ‘s origins go back to being a bass player in Metal, Rock and Hardcore bands since 2004. 

This is where his love for performing and creating heavier music begins. As a part of the rythmic section of the groups, he quickly developed a taste for broken beats and groovy basslines.

After finding himself trapped between the other paths that band members wanted to follow, he chooses to go on his own.

After attending his first Therapy Sessions in Lisbon in 2009 decided that Drum n Bass was the way to go.

With the help of other producers and friends, he suddenly found himself absolutely submerged in music production and experimentation with sound design.
 More than just another tune, another track, another sound… it’s a New vibe, a New approach and an expression of feelings.

You might not recognise the name but you will have definitely heard Surgence in the past. He operates under the name Bazil and has been a member of Dreadzone for over 10 years. Here he settles into his latest alias with these special pre-release tracks on Dublin label inHabit. Mood Planet and Isolate VIP carry his dub stylings but hit with a much heavier, techier bedrock. Grab them ahead of their release on May 15.” - UKF/UKF Drum & Bass

With influences ranging from Stakka and Skynet, Konflict, Virus recordings, Teebee to name a few. Expect his own take on this sound ranging from deep, dark, atmospheric, funk & tech-step DnB. 
First release on Subplate recordings was out May 10th 2019, shortly followed by his Shapeshift EP on Voyage music supported by SkankandBass and dnbdojo.
