Daniel will be headlining our deep and disco loft. His contribution to the three year alongside No Way Back's Conor back-to-back with Honey's Jason Kendig perfectly captures our love for disco and sweaty dance parties. We've been big fans of Leftside Wobble's 'Acid Soul' series, so we are delighted to have him put together a mix for us. Here are some words from him regarding his mix for us:

"Leftside Classics is a retrospective featuring some of the tracks that have meant the most to me over the last five years or so. These are the tracks that somehow always find a way back into my sets, tracks that rise above the transient and tracks that defy limiting genre pigeonholes. My sets have always been about joining the dots, celebrating the eclectic and supporting those tracks that exist in the rich hinterland between dub, funk, disco and house. Hopefully this retrospective captures that overriding ethos.

I've included a small selection of unreleased LW bits and a few exclusive versions of well known staples to keep things pushing forward too.

Clandestino 026 - Leftside Wobble

I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

This is probably my favourite of the Acid Soul series so far. Featuring a selection of deep, dirty groovers from recent months, with a smattering of classics for good measure too. Thanks must go out to the fine folks of the DJ History forum for prompting me to dig out Maurice Fulton's mix of Alice Smith - forgot just how good that record is.

Gildas Kitsuné Club Night Mix #2

Paper Recordings are currently riding high in the album charts with their Paper Cuts #1 compilation, a collection of their finest moments from the last five years or so. As some of you may know I provided the sleeve notes for the CD version of Paper Cut's and in support of the release I thought it would be cool to go through my Paper collection and dig out a selection of my personal favourites from the first 10 years of the label (1993 - 2003). Born in sunny California, DANIEL WANG spent his younger years in Taiwan, only to return to the US in the late 80's to study & work. It was the post Paradise Garage era of ecstatic Hi-NRG clubs at Fire Island with dj's playing everything from crazy italo to early house and disco classics. A genuine spirit of freedom, love and togetherness reigned the sweaty dancefloors. Disco was a revolution. Powerful yet dirty. Disco was secret, underground, dangerous. It was the hottest, sexiest, most deeply loving dance music.

Frustrated with New York nightlife around the millenium switch, Danny relocated to Berlin for its political climate, pop culture & gay atmosphere. With releases on his own Balihu imprint and Morgan Geist's Environ label, Danny paved the way for many disco artists to surface in recent years , his lively and crazy dj sets worldwide being an inspiration for the guys at Horse Meat Disco and many many more. 

Little over two years ago, Daniel Wang played the infamous Oscillations party and those who were there will gladly tell you about the trip he took us on, accompanied by his microphone and the craziest disco & house selection we've ever witnessed, from Bohannon to Steve Silk Hurley over Stock, Aitken & Waterman. This time he returns to Bazaar for the third installment of Holger, so you know what to expect: beautiful freaks & blasphemous good times (and hopefully some good ol' Abba)!
