Having already embarked on a musical pilgrimage through the harmonies of Brian Wilson’s Pet sounds, the Afrobeat intensity of Sean Kuti and a cosmic performance from @toddterje - the crowd were then treated to a kaleidoscopic journey in Disco, Funk and chunky edits from the legendary @gregwilson. This two hour live recording demonstrates perfectly why Greg is still considered top of his game, 41 years since he first donned a pair of headphones.

Essex-based, edit king, Chuggin Edits and South African based pioneers in everything Disco, Nu-Disco & Editorial, Slow Mo Lounge, are back with a new tape. 

'After a highly successful first run of the year featuring Mexico's Hotmood, I've been itching to work with internationals again, Gary was no exception. It was long overdue, Chuggin's got new songs and inspirations we've both been dying to get behind and share with South African ears and the world. And with the launch of his new label Slightly Transformed, this was the perfect opportunity to share  new music and some die-hard favourites. Gary is like a brother to me and arguably my biggest inspiration and mentor, I love working with him' says Kongisto about the mix and Chuggin Edits. 

Label owner, producer and DJ, Chuggin Edits, is no stranger to the depth and infectious groove of slow mo as a genre and relentlessly continues to deliver on scorching, floor banging edits, inspired by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Loose Change, and Stephanie Mills to name a few. His production credits include Slightly Transformed(his own label), Deep Sense, FKR, Alpaca Edits and Masterworks Music (again, to name a few).

Jokers Of The Scene entered their latest project with the express purpose of creating music that could be perfect for home listening and strobe-lit warehouses alike. The five tracks on J0T5 pulsate through ambient synth excursions, vintage sci-fi soundtracks, and experimental techno, somehow managing to connect the dots along the way. Are the seven minutes of hypnotic riffs on "Black Mountie" the missing link between prog rock and prog house? Is "Organized Zounds" what moon gravity does to Coldcut and Plastikman records? Was "Killing Jokes II" secretly recorded by Vangelis on a pill bender during the Blade Runner sessions? Whatever you might hear bouncing around its individual elements, J0T5 is no retro exercise or mere collection of references; Booth and Chameleonic have paid loving tribute to their record collections while managing to sound unlike anyone but themselves.
