Before the release of her first record a decade ago, Quebecois musician Myriam Gendron was busking in Paris, singing Leonard Cohen songs. In a striking full-circle moment, the artist's newest release, 'Mayday', sees her inching closer than ever to the icon's delicate balance of light and darkness. Singing in English and in French, Gendron reminds the listener that even the most pitch-black night is but a transactional state - this too shall pass.
