Sudan/UK collective The Scorpios performed on the closing day of Le Guess Who? 2018. Inspired by traditional Sudanese music and 60s and 70s pop, the group create an elated mix of Arabic rhythms, raw Eastern funk and vintage psychedelia.

About:
Having fled from the fundamentalists in their home country of Sudan, the original members of psychedelic group The Scorpios established themselves in London during the 80s. Once there, they built a growing friendship with guitarist and community worker Adam Bulewski, who quickly became a permanent member of the band.

Recorded and mixed by Marc Broer on Sunday, 11 November, at TivoliVredenburg's Ronda during Le Guess Who? Festival.

The Scorpios - Mashena

Komplextrus grew up listening to 80’s electronic dance music. He started to compose piano pieces at the age of 11. When he reached the age of 14, his interest of music completely changed course into the computerised tunes of Electro. 

Ever since then, at the age of 16, his obsession has been creating Electro. Komplextrus loves to make all sorts of electronic music. He strives to make something that is different… something that you can never get bored of listening too.  He also loves to experiment with chords to create the “Perfect Progression”.
