so amazing! songs seem so perfect to me when they have a descernable theme that agrees with the title (which you definitely nailed!) as for composition, VERY well done! can feel a strong 80s vibe in these chords and instrument choice

Bullet Train [+Album Release!]

Another track from my upcoming album, Return to Aloha. This is one of the themes for Capel (the protagonist)'s home apartment on Planet Aloha. As with many song on this album, it's based off of songs from the very first Capel album from all the way back in 2014! A tribute to my grandfather, who died exactly one year ago on this day (June 4th, 2018). The man meant the world to me, and still does. His positivity, optimism and compassion for others, his creative vision and drive, it all means a lot to me. And he passed that torch down to me.

My first time using the VRC6 chip!

I've been trying to cover this song since I first started making NES music but could never get it right with just the 2a03 channels, since I was too stubborn to learn any other chip.
A few days ago I tried the VRC6, and it's a lot simpler than I thought. I might keep up using this chip, or even continue experimenting with others.

I used the sawtooth channel to complement the underpowered triangle bass, and the two extra pulse channels as an extension of the two 2a03 ones.

Channel management was still a challenge, especially starting around 0:53. I had to stretch so many instruments onto just the two extra pulses, since the original two were used up on the main flute and the light jazz guitar.
