While frontiers currently seem to be (re)claimed and shutting down, we, at Série Limitée, prefer going against the consensus. We proudly and loudly open up our doors to four new artists, Deep 88, Sofotalk, Kisk and The Happy Man. From Italy to Spain, our little musical caravan travels and wanders on paths and tracks made out of raw house beat leaves, fusion jazz trunks and deep groove fields, to bring to you this new VA, our 10th, faithful to our long time recipe: 300 press, and no digital! Step in and join us.

Diego Ocejo, aka The Happy Man, is closing the journey. True explorer himself, highly influenced by hip hop, he started producing five years ago, alongside his career as an illustrator and engraver. A mad records and drum machines-collector in his spare time, this young DJ / producer is pushed by the famous drive called “more”, more new things, more fresh things, more challenging things. His musical sets are but the result of it all, linking house and disco together with some frequent detours via jazz and funk, and endless groovy road. 
Grab our hands, step in with us: it’s time for “Pizza Hug”. It will be the last little dance before our trip ends. It will be a special one. It will be a warm one. It will be the kind of dance that makes you never want to stop.

Anyone who has been following the music industry the past few years knows this fact: Vinyl sales are up! And up big! In fact, sales of vinyl in 2016 reached a 25-year high as consumers young and old have found new satisfaction from embracing physical formats of music.

However, this recent trend did not happen out of thin air. Independent labels, like Helsinki imprint Common Labour, have been the influencers behind the scenes making the shift happen by implementing policies where they exclusively release material on vinyl only formats. This has been a policy at Common Labour since their start in 2013, and although I doubt the journey has been easy, the label has developed one of the strongest discographies in the underground house scene – sporting phenomenal releases from the likes of artists such as Lukas Lyrestam, Kask, Powel, and Saine.

To celebrate this 5-year journey, the Finnish collective has decided to come out with a new compilation as part of their Odd Jobs series. Aptly titled Odd Jobs Vol. 3, this record pays homage to their hand-stamped, sticker-sealed history. Consisting of 4-tracks, this release features music from the likes of Sames, pothOles, Thomas Wood, and Bolting Bits fave Nachtbraker!

For the A1, the Dutch producer has come out with his very own original Tobogo, which goes much deeper than his usual array of turbo-funked disco bangers. This song actually gives off a distinctly more techno vibe than what we’re used to, and we like it! The tension Nachtbraker is able to establish from the get-go is something to behold, and he does his best in building it up and bringing it down throughout its entirety. Our favorite moment comes in around the 2 minute mark, when he uses a simple vocal sample to cut through all the angst like butter – unleashing a groove that you can’t help but bob your head too.

Save for a few one-off contributions here and there, JACQUES RENAULT hasn't released anything on Let's Play House, his own damn label, since 2015, when his debut long-player came out. Fitting, then, that his first solo release on it in three years is another LP!

This one is out today and finds Jacques returning to the home studio and focusing on doing what he does best, making full-bodied, bouncy, percussive party-starters, or, as the name of this full-length describes them, "club beats, breaks, and versions."
