Biography:
Hernan Serrao is an Argentinian legend. He started DJing at the tender and impressionable age of 16, he was opening for iconic acts like Grace Jones,Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor in illustrious clubs such as the Buenos Aires News (now known as Crobar Buenos Aires). From there he became a resident in some of Argentina’s most acclaimed dance institutions such as the Super Club, Opera Bay and Club Pacha Buenos Aires. Hernan made many guest appearances in clubs across the country like the South American Music Conference, the Renaissance party at Crobar and Sobremonte in Mar Del Plata. As his sound grew so did his reach and he began playing first across South America in such places as Brazil, Peru, Chile and Paraguay, and then across the globe from London to Amsterdam, and Denmark to Slovenia.

With his professional growth came international recognition and Hernan Serrao was invited to play in many cities and many South American´s countries like Brazil, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, and not to forget to mention that Hernan is the only DJ to have played in all editions of the South American Music conference held in Buenos Aires- Argentina.
Hernan was also the first DJ to perform a gig at the exclusive Hotel Unique in Sao Paulo city-Brazil, where, and thanks to the success of the party began to hold events at this location with DJ’s such as Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and many more........ [if you want to read more @hernanserrao ]

This weeks show is an old studio Mix containing only tracks produced or remixed by the immensely gifted Brian Transeau, known by his initials as BT.

BT is an American musician, DJ, singer, songwriter, composer and audio engineer. An artist in the electronica music genre, he is credited as a pioneer of the trance and intelligent dance music styles that paved the way for EDM, and for "stretching electronic music to its technical breaking point."

His debut album 'Ima' was released on October 9, 1995 through Perfecto Records. The album was considered a major stepping stone in trance music, popularising a more progressive approach.

Between 1995 and 2000, the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman and Paul Oakenfold heavily played his tracks and they all looked upon BT as a genius and years ahead of his time.

His work in this period was distinctively different from anything else at the time and marrying progressive house and trance in a way that nobody had done before or since.

3 QUESTIONS to STEVE PARRY:

Q: You are promoter, running the great SMP3 DJ promo pool, music selector for famous artists, running an amazing label besides being a great DJ and producer. Did I forget something? Tell us about your daily life.

A: Yes I am doing a lot of things at once, but always have been really. Life is crazy at the moment, in a good way. I do a radio show too, and a few other things I have up my sleeve. I work all day with music - it's a dream job - swapping in-between sorting music for DJs, sending promo’s for labels, some studio bits and running the label. Being a dad to our two kids is the other time consuming but lovely thing in my life, alongside my wife Melanie. And then DJ-ing at tea weekend. I’m not playing every weekend - but I like that! Try and fit a bit of ‘normality’ in occasionally.

Q: You´re running the imprint „Selador“ together with legend Dave Seaman. What´s the masterplan for next year – including celebrating the 5th birthday?

A: We will be five years old in April - time has flown by really - and I think we have grown nicely, and I love running the label alongside Dave, everything is 50/50, so we chat daily about stuff. We are planning something a bit different and getting our favourite label artists to make a collaboration with other Selador artists - for example Dave and I have just finished a track together (the first thing we have ever made together, even though we’ve been mates since 1991!). Some other exciting stuff and collaborations, but i wont say too much yet!

Q: Which future Steve Parry projects are on the way?

A: My new track "303 V" is due out in December - it's great to see John Digweed (my favourite DJ) playing it at every gig - makes me smile! I’ve just finished a new track called ‘Squidfist’ (which is named after a beer that my friend brews and you can only buy in my local bar!) Theres the collaboration with Dave coming early next year. Also I’m remixing Chris Fortiers new thing as Conecte (I've known Chris since mid 90’s so its nice to remix for him) and a few more bits that I have to do too! Gigwise 2018 is shaping up nicely - some very cool gig pencilled in!

Their weekly 'Night Whisper' podcast show seemed like the natural progression of what they have been doing and has been running since 2020, and thanks to the help of radio stations like Pure Ibiza Radio, Cafe Mambo Ibiza Radio, Ibiza Global Radio, Bloop Radio London, Beach Radio, Organic Deep House Radio, Boogie Bunker Radio (Tenerife), Estacion Ibiza Radio, Data Transmission Radio, Radio Zoom (Berlin), Graffiti Kings (London) and Like That Underground (Germany), it has developed brilliantly, and helped bring the Lenz sound to all corners of the world. 
 
Atmospheric, raw, and cinematic, Lenz is comfortable taking you on an exciting journey and making you sweat on the dance floor. Never afraid to go too deep, their emotional, dreamy melodies and poetic words will invigorate your mind and soothe your soul.

Having grown up on their individual eclectic combinations of European electronica and synth-infused 80s music … all which became infused with their own love for electronic music, Lenz have ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. 

Today, after working together closely these last four years, this translates into DJ sets and production releases where they pick apart and infuse together all the pieces of this music that they love best: beautiful synth work, lush backdrops, brooding basslines combined with Moon Aton’s haunting ethereal vocals… all on top of pronounced foot-shuffling house beats and chilled ambient tones. Together they create the very essence of their signature sound, an emotional and organic contrast of dark and bright, deep, cinematic, genre bending styles, rich in melody and emotion.
