Description: Another track from the Berklee Getting Your Guitar Sound Course I am taking. I played this on a Gibson L5 Wes Montgomery Model through a Rupert Neve direct box into ProTools using the Amplitube plugin. I used the Solid State Clean amp model with just a little reverb and compression.

Bumpin' On Sunset by Wes Montgomery.

A few months ago my Pat Martino Benedetto had been in the shop a while so I had to "slum it" with my Gibson Wes Montgomery model L5.
Here is my take on the alternate take of Bumpin' on Sunset.

Made a couple tweaks to this latest version, Erik Miron gets credit for finding the wrong note in my double stops and John Mulhern helped me setup the reverb busses.

Wolf Marshall helped me with the triple stops. You use a "cowboy chord" shape for those.

Chitlins Con Carne

I wrote this arrangement & recorded this a few years ago with some guys from the Navy Band San Diego. The guitar was an Epiphone Emperor Regent that I put two Seymour Duncan pickups in. The amplifier was a Fender Hotrod Deluxe with a 12-inch Electro Voice speaker.

While pursuing my doctorate in education I was studying with the famous guitarist/author Wolf Marshall. I became interested in the work of Pat Martino, specifically his improvisations on jazz standards. Pat and I became friends over the years, and I have finally been able to publish these through Hal Leonard's Arrange Me service.
I lead, arrange for, and play guitar in a Las Vegas Rock & Soul Revue called the Spectators.
