All-consuming and breathtaking love, it is impossible to run away from it and you don’t want to. Good old reggae, only in a modern way. It pays tribute to the Bob Marley heritage and “Sunshine Reggae” by Laid Back.

This song was written after feeling scared about the future, lack of money, getting older, my parents getting older & feeling lonely in a new country. I didn't want to be aware of bad things anymore, about climate change and wars, paying bills,  dying, etc. I wanted to feel like a little kid again, finding joy in everything, not knowing what the real world was like.

What does pushing bring?
Pride in myself. 
Self belief.

Resistance demons regenerate.
Pushing is making peace with that.

Sometimes pushing is staying still.
Refusing to leave the desk.
Or just sitting with an emotion.
Ignoring the urge to distract myself from my feelings

Mapeka - is about Politique ya mabe - Bad politics
The word mapeka can be interpreted all kinds of ways
Like all Kinshasa slang
It’s the stance of someone showing off
The strut of a big ego

In this song it’s the arrogance of evil politicians
Mocking their audacity
With a raucous kind of chorus calling out ‘mapeka ya politicians’

And in typical Kinshasa style, band leader Matondo shouts out the instrumentalists as they begin playing pure fire start to finish.
