Now settled in fertile east London, Snapped Ankles maintain the feral energy of the forest. Fight or flight. Primal motorik rhythms, the rush of white noise and post-punk angles; an aural onslaught played out on homemade log synths, electrified guitars and sticks beating hell on taut animal skin.

Snapped Ankles have flourished in the sub-tropical climes of warehouse and squat parties, moving onto performance art collaborations with filmmakers and shows in unlikely locations such as barber shops, games arcade and the forests they once called home. They plough a singular furrow at improbable angles. The woodwose have discovered electricity and they’re not afraid to use it.

With dusty driving percussion and a soulful piano melody, Adryiano delivers a dancefloor bomb. He's been steadily supplying the scene with quality underground tracks since he emerged in 2012 and this latest offering showcases the essence of his house sound.

I was contacted by Grant of ZZK and AYA Records a while ago to remix a new Ecuadorian artist he had been working with, Grant has a knack for finding unique South American sounds way ahead of everyone else so I was immediately curious.  After my first listen I knew there was something special about this song, sound, artist, label, the whole of it felt refreshing and vibrant. I got to work right away. After a Poolside gig I had a day off to hang out with Vito & Druzzi in their studio in Brooklyn where we added the 303 line, live percussion, rototoms and more to fill it out.

Bordello A Parigi has just returned from a fruitful expedition to Russia to secure a four tracker from St Petersburg synthesizer playboy Kito Jempere. Super Sax Sounds is a rich and varied expression from an artist who has explored a spread of sounds during his career.  The A-Side is the product of one diverse machine, the Yamaha QY-70. “Bueller’s Dance” gets the show on the road with latin showband flare. The opener brims with cruising notes, crisp claps and smooth bass; a track guaranteed to put a smile on any face. Moods change with the tear stained chords of “Space Commercial”, a superbly subtle work of joy and heartbreak. A colder wind permeates the flip as a cinematic and sinister element enters. Toms and snares support the descending bars of “Atmosphere”, a track where tropical dreams cloud into despair. Those dreams are purged by “Tomohawk”, a dark prowler who stalks with a maniacal glint and menacing intent. An audio feast care of Kito Jempere.
