Rome’s Leone510 readies ‘It’s Our Time EP’ for Lorenzo Dada’s Electronic Music Division this February.
Run by Lorenzo Dada, Electronic Music Division is the record label of Centro Studi Musical Roma, a music academy in Rome founded in 1983. Having debuted in 2018 with ‘Today’ EP on his Vonsail label, the Rome-based Leone510, aka Giordano Leone, draws upon an emotive and rich palette of sounds for his first release on Dada’s imprint, the three-track ‘It’s Our Time EP’.
Leading the release, title cut ‘It’s Our Time’ sees melancholic melodies and atmospheric pads swirl together over sharp, propulsive drums, making for an engaging and moving piece. ‘Kiss The Rain’ follows, with floating arpeggios drifting across a full-bodied low end as injections of sampled noise puncture through the mix.
Rounding out the release is ‘Labyrinth’, a deep drum & bass inspired jam. Dulcet bass tones, jazzy chords, and rattling breakbeats combine for a psychedelic-tinged experience, closing out the EP in refined style.

One-year-and-a-half after landing on earth with its first eponymous EP, The Outsider Syndrome is back from its exploration of the vast Techno universe with more musical UFO’s.

Through “Social Engineering”, the Lyon-based duo – composed of E-care and Don Jo –, is about to deliver another dose of rock-influenced electronics, delving its dark-energy into a not-so-sci-fi-anymore dystopian future made of totalitarianism, supranational control.
Four raging tracks of analog techno and electro, with a huge space given to narration and improvisation, as a fight against boring, repetitive standards.

To be published once again on Beyond Techno Musical UFO’s in limited-edition vinyls, on February 23, 2022.

Candy Kingdom Synth Orchestra is Berlin-based, Jerusalem-born Uri Yacobi Keller. He has been in the German capital for almost a decade playing in clubs such as Griessmuehle and About Blank. The data scientist has a long-standing love of house, techno and drum & bass as well as a passion for sci-fi that infuses his music.
His fantastic 'The Star’s Leap At Night' is a driving and pulsing electronic house track with starry-eyed keys and neon chords. The yearning vocals imbue it with passion and meaning as the bubbling arps soar into the cosmos. The synth version strips away the vocals to allow those well-programmed chords more room to shine.

Not many people knew about the wonders of this underground party. It was, and always had been, a word of mouth situation, restricted to those who were non-judgmental and willing to let go of their inhibitions. This is the way it would always be: it ensured the space to be safe, sacred and untouched, and the partygoers to be faces who'd soon become friends and not remain strangers. 

For their next release, a digital two-tracker titled The Leisure Hive, NYC's Throne Of Blood link up three Philadelphian artists: Optimo and Les disques de la mort signees Zillas On Acid and Permanent Vacation and Mister Saturday Night alumni Alex Burkat. The three artists first met at Dave P's Making Time parties where the former duo have been resident DJs for years. It's this night that inspired the idea behind this new release: two "psychedelic dance floor jams" that are custom-made to soundtrack the frivolities at open-minded soirees like Making Time.

Blossom Kollektiv is proud to unveil their first full-length release since relaunching in 2022, with Porto’s Pixel82 and his first album “Infinity” set to make its appearance this June.

Pixel82 talks about this work, which was produced during a time of forced introspection and uncertainty, as a rediscovery of the past to find the future. He wanted to create an uplifting vibe for the songs on the album while still having a subtle dystopian feel in them.
To achieve this sound, he experimented with polarities and used sounds that are personal to himself including organic sounds from nature and even from his personal life with the use of a recording of the heartbeat from his own daughter.

During the nine-track expedition, the artist creates an honest tour de force,
without the constraints of making dance floor shakers and the end result is a highly effective trip that electronic music lovers around the world will adore, not only for listening but also with various moments that will work wonders on the dance floor. Each track is carefully crafted to play off the other with lively alluring synths, eclectic beats, and clever use of vocals throughout the album that seals each track together cohesively.

Beginning with “Breaking Free” its creative use of vox paired with uplifting synths sets the mood of the album that leads to the title track “Infinity”, an underground pop venture with the same feel-good vibe but with catchy vocals that are sure to be stuck in the listeners head long after hearing it. Then the broken beat tracks “Beyond” and “Alien World” whisk you off to strange new worlds with interesting broken beat drum patterns and synths that keep the same harmonious vibe as the rest of the album.

Moving on to the second half of the album “The Grid” takes you straight to the dance floor with bouncy synth lines and tight grooves that is sure to keep the energy high. “Space” and “Sunset” present the liveliest tracks on the album that are perfect for those early morning sunrise moments if used in a set but also very pleasant to the ear for home listening. Arriving at our next destination to slower jams with “Music Box” the minimalistic approach to the drums along with the pleasant melodies keeps everything woven tightly together until finally arriving at our final chapter. “Theta” brings everything effectively to an end with an ambient beatless experience that brilliantly wraps up the release and will keep the listener coming back for more.

The final message of the album leaves an impression of hope through the title “Infinity” that comes from what the artist calls a simple idea of a loop, the continuum of life, togetherness, and union, which he has seamlessly expressed through his own experience during a time of the unknown. As the listener takes an intimate tour of the album’s soundscapes, they will surely find the light at the end of the tunnel, either at the intimacy of their own home or on a sweaty dance floor.

TAKT present a friendly cassette collection of musicians (producers) and DJs, who were united by joint performances in nightclubs in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

The material was collected with the assistance of the DUBFUSION (community) label. In this collaboration, TAKT want to show the current range of independent electronic music of the city and its representatives.

PREMIERE | Handarbeit - Little Angel From Mexico [TAKT] 2022

Earthy Measures 13th release sees them delving deeper with a 5 track EP from the Colombian, OKRAA - very much inspired by his native country, and his most personal release to date.

First track on the EP 'Song To Say Goodbye' is inspired by African communities in Colombia, Desplazamiento, & based on a native Colombian rhythm called 'Bullerengue' with added Electro & Acid elements.

Baile de Fuego (Fiebre Mix) takes its inspiration from communities from the Pacific coast of Colombia. Their native instrument, 'Marimba de Chonta' was used as the main source for the track, which was then processed and combined with elements of the UK Bass Continuum and Acid House

Bunde Niebla was inspired by the tradition of Colombian 'Alumbranzas', a local religious musical ceremony, with which the indigenous group of Yanakona's in the region of Nariño meditate through the use of self-made bamboo flutes and drums + prayer.

Many testimonies speak of spiritual healing and premonitions. This was also the chance to pay a nice homage to Colombian Indigenous musician and Luthier Cenen Omen, who inspired and taught music to several generations of local and indigenous people in a sadly forgotten area of Colombia.

The song also samples a track by an ancestor of OKRAA called 'Bunde Tolimense', which is the anthem for the Colombian region of Tolima.

Aura explores a more introspective nature, the lyrics in Spanish speak about facing your own ego, to understand it's a burden that you can let go of to finally become free/yourself/one.

Arbol: Ex-Humano was an experiment that OKRAA always wanted to try: Salsa + Acid House, which he did it after an Ayahuasca trip. In English - Tree: Ex-Human.

Notes from the artist -Desplazamiento (El Baile Como Salvación / Dance as a Salvation): Many indigenous people, and members from the country-side communities in Colombia have been forced through the years to leave their hometown due to expropriation of their lands, forcing them to live in cities in extreme poverty. The feeling of helplessness and the wish to help them but not being able to make a huge difference for the lack or shortage of money. There's many artists and musicians that have had to go through this, and they make art their way of coping with it.

-Espíritus y Árboles: The 'Awá', an Indigenous group from the area of Nariño in Colombia, have several ways of seeing life and beliefs that inspired me, one of them especially, which was that all humans become trees after they live their human lives, and they remain in the land as living creatures to guide or sometimes punish humans.
