NEAT return to Exploited with what might just be their strongest EP to date.

The title track features Swedish talent Storken, who has released on Running Back, and channels beautiful ‘80s Balearic vibes into its skippy house template. ‘80s electro bass funk leads the charge while wonky tape delays massage guitar chords and female vocal cuts into the distance. Bubbling synths subtly augment the central pillars of the track. The blissed-out breakdown makes for a stunning ambient / chillout interlude, allowing this glorious track to breathe and stretch out its arms.

‘What’s Up D?’ continues the retro theme, with diva house vocals cut up and set by turns against jaunty chime chords and a warped, nagging, pitch-bending synth hook. The ‘90s house percussion shuffles away with tinges of techno in its clap patterns and soft ride cymbals, while rubbery bass pulsates beneath. It’s a lean, punchy workout that flits between euphoria and heads-down intensity.

‘You Know What My Love’ rounds off the EP in beautiful style. The most gentle of the three tracks, its combination of stuttering vocal cut-ups, spine-tingling chord delays and succinct yet driving beat make for a dreamy experience. The breakdown is a stunning affair, where soaring pads float atop sensual melody and hypnotic FX, sunsets and lapping waves invoked by its heavenly sounds.

NEAT Feat. Storken - Dancing You And Me | Exploited

Whatever this label does, there is always a real sense of history and culture, which is confirmed again here. 'Respect' was written by Otis Redding in 1965 and became a global hit and signature song for Aretha Franklin in 1967. But in 1988, Adeva changed its key and flipped it into a garage house classic that now gets remade by I-Robots featuring the legendary Kathy Brown with The It/Jungle Wonz man and Chicago master Harry Dennis also appearing.

Their Paradise Garage inspired version opens up and is eight glorious minutes of elastic, floor-filing and dazzling disco house. The bassline is tough, the vocals packed with attitude, and the synth work brings real light. It's a timeless track that brings any dance floor to its knees.

Alex Neri is a true legend from Planet Funk and Kamasutra and is head of Tenax Recordings and Wildflower Records in his native Italy. His take is awash with majestic melodies and shimmering synths that lift you off your feet. The house drums are heavyweight, and the bassline is a real standout that takes us back to the future.

Atjazz is a longtime Afro and jazzy deep house musician from the UK with a fulsome back catalogue and a unique signature sound. His remix is late night and deep, with woozy chords and a seductive vocal perfect for those intimate moments. He also serves up a dub, instrumental and Acapella, so there is something for all situations.

This is another essential package of classically-inspired but contemporary house and disco from I-Robots and Opilec Music. The August 3rd release date is chosen to coincide with I-Robots birthday and the sttrikign artwork for this release comes courtesy of Artefract/Tim Paulvè FR.

Never failing to maintain positivity and balmy vibes - Tensnake presents the latest EP on his own label True Romance.

Following releases from Jozef K, 3kelves, Dylan C. Greene and Steve Mill, Geraldine - which came bolstered with the boss himself - the latest offering on True Romance is a quintessential example of makes the label so omni-appreciated. 

Here - Oslo based artist Henrik Villard offers up 4 beautiful grooves, stripped down to the bare minimum: well crafted drums and deftly selected samples all suffused with an irresistible amber glow. 

'I See U' kicks things off with a jubilant, circling sample which is filtered and panned as it fleshes out a crispy House back bone. ‚Breezin - Fall In Love' then follows up with more smiley sampling which is underpinned by a thick, rumbling sub. 

'Love Forever Stands' then sets field recordings and shuffling rim-shots over a cosy kick drum as another sunny sample bleeds into the mix. Sax samples and neat vocal cuts pepper the track in a manner that recalls some of the finest Smallville records before 'While You Are Here' closes things up. 

Script samples, clever arrangement and simple-but-effective loops shine through and bring an exultant collection of floor-fillers to a heart-warming conclusion'.

I have completed my classical flute studies, then I continued my jazz flute studies, and finally I also completed my music production studies. I discovered myself in music production after leaving classical music. I also play keyboards, guitar, bass guitar. I get ideas for electronic music riffs from these instrument sounds. I don't have one genre of music, I try to express myself in various genres. So This piece symbolizes different energies coming together. What I like the most.

Next up on Tensnake's True Romance is an EP from one of Dance music's most widely loved and omni-present characters - head of the Turned On podcast - Ben Gomori. Ben's had his fingers in all sorts of music-related pies for many years, occasionally turning his talented hand to original productions and edits.

With previous releases on Club Bad, Fate & Fiction and his own Monologues imprint - Ben now makes his 3rd return to True Romance with the aptly-title ‚Desperately Seeking Something‘.

Opening track ‚Funkle’ channelling steamy 70s sass, the title track melds a well-selected batch of samples into a feverish jam. Dramatic stabs, electrifying vocals and irresistible whammy guitar loops all tumble over a truncated bass line. Intelligent arrangement is the key here as the energy remains palpable throughout rises and drops which coming blow after blow.

'Desperately Seeking Something' then follows up with 6 minutes of pure, piano-driven joy. Uplifting chords, rising strings and swirling vocals are all gathered together and set floating over more clever drum programming. Again, the structure of the track works wonders in pushing / pulling tension throughout a track which is guaranteed to send the dance floor into a frenzy

Time to Play Records strikes back with a new 4 tracks ep, late night club-ready, with heavy bass-kicks tracks straight to your chest.
Filippo Tazzer, label manager and executive producer, continues in his search for underrated talents, enhancing his talent, musical sensitivity and evident production skills. After having entrusted the baptism of the label to Reekee and Colosimo, the moment is propitious to introduce another Italian Producer:
Phonorem, fresh with a new album called “Algorythm”.
Phonorem production skills in those 4 tracks embrace different styles forged by his 90’s hip-hop and drum and bass roots, by mixing synthetizers and drum machines with samples.

SEAMLESS, the track that gives the EP its title, is a deep-house track with double bass - bassline and atmospheric scenarios by manipulating old Italian movie soundtracks samples.

PREE, is a downbeat track which made homage to DJ Premier beats, with some melodies created with a Chinese hammered dulcimer.

FLIP DOWN gives a high contrast experience: fusing a raw drum machine rhytm with dreamy pads and a mysterious vocal.

LOW FAT is a heavy bass kick track with some sythetizers-melodies with a story to tell. With a happy end.

Brandon Markell Holmes re-releases three tracks on vinyl via toucan sounds, joined by a fresh remix from Derrick Carter.

Since first appearing on toucan sounds in 2020, Brandon Markell Holmes’ inimitable voice has seen him establish himself as a staple on the label. Now, the imprint collects three iconic appearances from the artist on vinyl, with an additional remix from legendary house lynchpin Derrick Carter. Originally released as part of a collaborative EP with Rogue Vogue, Derrick bumps up the tempo of ‘Someone Else’, introducing earworm keys and tough drums, while maintaining the warmth of Brandon’s vocals.
