Today Is What It Is

A lament for John Franklin who disappeared in the Arctic leading a nautical expedition to find a sea passage around the North Pole in the 1800s.   The words and tune are traditional, except for the intro-outro which is a short tune I composed called "A long drink of water". The picture is a detail from "Among the Ice Flows" in the Washington National Gallery public domain collection. Available on Spotify/Apple Music/Deezer.
