I was so inspired by Howard Scarr's latest patches for the virtual modular synth Bazille, that I decided to write some music with it. It's not surprising really, as this happens regularly when I start to explore Howard's stellar work! All the parts are Bazille, except for a couple of Logic drum loops.

Another special virtual synthesizer has me in its spell. Laplace is its own beast, with a very particular sound, not beautiful, yet invitingly digital. As much as possible, I tried to take advantage of the unique sound transformations possible with this 'resonator' synth.

I've never owned or even played the venerable Arp 2600, though I've pined for one for a long time. The chances that I will own one are pretty small, so I was thrilled with this sampled version, which includes an excellent effects section. The2600 is truly a joy to get lost in; it sounds rich, powerful and yet playful.

I was so excited when I read about the update to the venerable Oddity, which I loved from day one. I have much respect for Dave Spiers' work, and had a lot of fun writing this little piece, loosely based on the Rosetta comet's arrival in our world.
